In Bihar, the mercury has started falling in many districts since December 20, in view of which the Patna District Magistrate had directed to keep play schools, Anganwadi to eighth class closed from December 23 to December 26. The cold has not reduced yet and the temperature is not increasing. Keeping this in view, Patna DM has taken a big decision.

Kankani continues with drop in mercury

The sun did not shine throughout the day and Kankani continued with the westerly wind. Samastipur recorded the maximum temperature of 15.4 degrees Celsius with a drop of 4.9 degrees Celsius.

Mercury also dropped in Madhubani, Darbhanga and Supaul

It said that after this, 7.6 degrees were recorded in Gaya of the state, 8.9 degrees each in Bhagalpur and Sheikhpura, 9 degrees each in Valmiki Nagar and Dehri of West Champaran, 9.3 degrees in Jehanabad and 9.5 degrees in Saharsa.

The department said that orange alert has been issued for dense to very dense fog in East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal and Jehanabad districts.

Experts believe that slight improvement in the weather is possible only after December 30, before that there is little hope of relief.

However, there is no possibility of rain in most districts of the state on Monday. In most districts including Patna of South Bihar, the weather will remain dry and humid heat will remain. Clouds will remain clean in most districts of North Bihar, only a few western and eastern parts may receive light to moderate rainfall. These include Buxar, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Kaimur, Saran, Gopalganj, East and West Champaran, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj.

There was no rain in any district during the day on Sunday, but rain was recorded in many places late in the night. Athmalgola in Patna received the highest 72.2 mm of rain. Apart from this, 21.2 mm of rainfall was recorded in flood, 17.6 in Belchhi and 19.3 mm in Gaya. Light drizzle occurred in many districts including Samastipur, Jamui, Bhojpur, Nalanda, Vaishali.

The day temperature was normal on Sunday. Patna recorded 34.5 degree Celsius, Farbisganj 35.4 degrees and in most districts, 33 to 34 degrees temperatures were recorded. Even today there is no possibility of special change in temperature.
