Nowadays, tubeless tires are provided in most new bikes because they are safer and more convenient than tube tyres. But when a tire suddenly gets punctured on the way, we definitely wonder whether the bike can be driven further and if yes, then for how many kilometers would it be appropriate to drive it? Let us know the details.

The biggest feature of a tubeless tire is that after getting punctured, the air does not come out suddenly but it reduces gradually. Many times a nail or any sharp object gets stuck in the tire, due to which the release of air becomes even slower. In such a situation, the rider gets time to stop safely or reach the nearest repair shop.

What to do in case of puncture?

If the puncture is small and the air is coming out slowly then you can ride the bike for some distance at low speed. Generally it is possible to go 1 to 5 kilometers. It completely depends on how fast the tire is deflating and what is the condition of the road. Although you can walk a little more on a smooth road, but on a bad road or a place with potholes, this distance reduces further.

Keep these things in mind

If the tire air is too low or almost completely gone, riding a bike becomes risky. In such a situation, the side wall of the tire starts getting pressed, which can cause damage to the tire. Along with this, the rim is also affected and the balance of the bike may deteriorate, which increases the risk of accident.

Another important thing is that the bike should never be driven at high speed after puncture. Always move the bike forward at slow speed, so that you remain in control and do not put extra pressure on the tyres. You should also avoid applying sudden brakes or taking sharp turns, as this can damage the tire further.

If there is no puncture shop nearby then it would be better if you slowly take the bike to the nearest service centre. But if the tire is completely worn out then the safest option is to push the bike. Apart from this, portable puncture repair kits are also available for tubeless tires nowadays, keeping them with you can be a wise step.

If you want your bike to give good performance for a long time, then it becomes very important to take care of it daily. Many people keep riding the bike until some major problem arises, but doing so leads to more expenses and problems later on. If you do not want to go to the service center due to time or money, then here we are going to tell you how you can service your bike sitting at home?

Do this work yourself sitting at home

It is very important to have clean air for the bike engine to function properly. When the air filter gets clogged with dust, dirt and grime, the engine does not get enough air. Its direct impact is on the performance and mileage of the bike. The bike starts running heavy and the pickup also reduces. Therefore, the air filter should be cleaned from time to time or replaced if necessary.

After this, the most important work is of engine oil. Engine oil keeps the parts inside the bike engine cool and smooth. When oil becomes old or its quality deteriorates, friction increases in the engine. Due to this, the engine starts heating up, noise starts coming and gradually the engine can get damaged. This is why it is very important to change the engine oil as per the time or kilometers specified by the company.

Take care of the chain like this

The third important thing is the chain and sprocket of the bike. If the chain of the bike becomes loose or dirt gets accumulated in it, then there is a knocking sound while riding the bike and the power does not reach the wheel properly. Due to this, not only the riding does not remain smooth but the chain and other parts start wearing quickly. Therefore, it becomes necessary to clean the chain daily, apply lubricant to it and get it tightened as per need.
