It is believed that Nitin Naveen’s new team will be a mix of experienced leaders and emerging young faces, whose aim is to take BJP’s nationalist agenda to the next stage. Nitin Naveen’s political journey itself is being considered an indication of the new strategy of BJP. After being the Minister of PWD and Urban Development in the Bihar government, his reaching the top role in the organization is an example of the fact that BJP wants to take administrative and organizational experience together. According to sources, the possible cabinet reshuffle at the Center and formation of a new national team is part of the preparation for the 2027 assembly elections. Speculation of cabinet reshuffle in Modi government 3.0

Before the completion of two years of Modi Government 3.0, discussions about a major cabinet reshuffle in the Central Government have also intensified. Political analysts, citing the previous tenures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, believe that a change in the Council of Ministers is possible in the coming months. The claims being made to support the speculation are that in the first term of the Modi government, the first cabinet expansion took place in November 2014, while major reshuffles were made in July 2016 and September 2017. In the second term, there was a major expansion in July 2021 and a change in the portfolios of ministers in May 2023. In such a situation, it is believed that after completion of two years of Modi 3.0, the Council of Ministers may be reconstituted once again. On May 26, the Modi government will complete 12 years at the Centre, while on June 9, two years of its third term will be completed. At present there are 72 members in the Union Council of Ministers, whereas constitutionally 81 ministers can be made. This has increased speculation about the entry of new faces and change in the responsibilities of some ministers. According to sources, keeping in mind the 2027 assembly elections, special focus can be given on regional and social balance. BJP President Nitin Nabin had also recently said in an exclusive conversation with ABP News, “BJP workers do full-time politics, we work 24X7,” which is being seen as an indication of the party’s cadre-based structure and continuous election preparations.

Emphasis on youth leadership in the organization

Keeping in mind the 2027 assembly elections, preparations for organizational changes have intensified in BJP. After the recent cabinet expansion in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, there are indications of bringing many leaders back into the organization. According to sources, many leaders from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, UP, West Bengal and Jharkhand may get a place in the new organizational team. Many leaders may also get the responsibility of state in-charge for the elections to be held next year. Discussions regarding the new national team under the leadership of party president Nitin Nabin are said to be in the final stages. Since assuming the post of President on January 20, Nitin Naveen has been continuously brainstorming on changes in the organizational structure and important appointments. It is believed that the new team may be announced soon. According to sources, more importance can be given to young leaders in the new team. However, to maintain organizational balance, experienced leaders are also likely to be given important responsibilities. There may be entry of many new faces at the National General Secretary level also, so that leaders of different states can be prepared at the national level. Apart from this, there are indications that women leaders will also get more representation in the new team.

Political analysts believe that the possible reshuffle in the BJP organization and the Government of India is not just an administrative change, but a part of long-term political preparation. The party is reshaping its strategy keeping in mind the important assembly elections to be held in 2027. Along with this, emphasis is also being laid on preparing the next generation leadership within the BJP.
