Some CPM leaders made sharp criticism during the party’s state secretariat meeting called on Friday to review the election results in Kerala. Many members said that remaining silent is no longer an option and the party must now ‘speak, listen and reform’.

Some leaders suggested that the mood of the party members was also not in favor of LDF. He also said that the organizational structure of the party has become such that internal matters cannot be discussed openly and he said that this is the first problem which needs to be fixed.

Everyone should be listened to – leaders insisted on this
During the discussion, the leaders emphasized that everyone’s views should be heard with an open mind and members should feel that they have complete freedom to express their views. He said that if this does not happen, then any attempt at reform will not be able to become a real reform.

The meeting lasted for 13 hours
The meeting, which was initially scheduled to end before 4 pm, lasted for 13 hours as leaders reportedly objected to ending it hastily. His demand that everyone should be given a chance to speak without any time limit was accepted.

Vijayan and Govindan criticized
If sources are to be believed, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and State Secretary M.V. Govindan faced criticism during the meeting. The leaders said that intolerant behavior should end. M.V. There were also indications in the criticism directed at Govindan that perhaps it would be appropriate for him to step down from the post of party secretary. Pinarayi Vijayan, who usually adopts a tough stance in such meetings, stayed till 9 pm during this session, while the meeting continued till 11 pm.

Earlier it used to be between Congress and us i.e. CPI. This time BJP’s vote support has increased. He has not grown so much that he can challenge anyone. There is no possibility of coming to power.

Iran has given gas to India not because of the government’s policies, but because of the people of India. He said that there cannot be one-sided friendship. Iran is our friend, we will also have to support them in their bad times.

The CPI leader said that his job is to give threats. When he wakes up in the morning, he starts the day with threats. On the central government approving 20 per cent additional allocation to commercial LPG consumers, CPI (M) leader Hannan Mollah said that it is somewhat necessary. Small restaurants were closed in many cities of our country. If the stove doesn’t light, how will the restaurant run? In such a situation, naturally, the government should pay special attention to this.
