Criminal Contempt petitions: The case of the comment of Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey about the Supreme Court is being hot. Former IPS officer and National President of Azad Adhikar Army, Abitabh Thakur, has filed a petition regarding the matter.

The former IPS has filed a criminal content petition against BJP MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey from Godda in Jharkhand on Sunday (April 20). He said that BJP MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey made comments related to the Supreme Court in a media interview on Saturday (April 19).

He said, “Dr. Nishikant Dubey also said many such things during the interview, which can be seen as an academic commentary towards the activities of the Supreme Court, but on the contrary many of his comments were clearly contempt. These include accusations of the Supreme Court of the country and the current Chief Justice of India to be responsible for all the civil wars and religious wars of the country.

Former IPS appeals to Supreme Court

Amitabh Thakur, former IPS officer and National President of Azad Adhikar Sena, has appealed in the Supreme Court to take action against the Bharatiya Janata Party MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey as per the rules of the Content of Court Act.

Party president made a statement after MP’s comment

It is noteworthy that apart from MP Nishikant Dubey, MP Dinesh Sharma also commented on the Supreme Court. BJP national president JP Nadda issued a statement after both the BJP leaders’ statements regarding both the Supreme Court. The party president tweeted on X and opted out of the statement of both MPs.

JP Nadda wrote in his post on his X, “BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma have nothing to do with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s statement on the judiciary and the Chief Justice of the country. This is his personal statement, but the BJP neither keeps any coincidences nor supports such statements.
