AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a press conference in Hyderabad on Tuesday (June 23). He strongly condemned the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ process that rejects passports as valid proof of citizenship. He also accused the government of trying to monopolize citizenship and using bulldozers against minorities to divert attention from corruption in the Ram Mandir fund.

Expressing concern over bureaucratic hurdles in citizenship review, Owaisi said that out of 12 documents required for ‘Special Intensive Revision’, only 8 have been accepted so far, while NRC and other important documents are being ignored. He said that the request to the Chief Electoral Officer to validate Aadhaar, PAN, driving license and food security card was also rejected. Not only this, the passport was also refused to be accepted as a valid document. Owaisi said that Indian passport is issued after strict police verification and is not given to any foreigner, hence rejecting it is completely illogical.

big question on citizenship

Taking a sharp dig at the ruling government, the senior MP alleged that the future criteria for Indian citizenship may soon be limited to political allegiance only. Making a sarcastic comment, he said that the day is not far when only those officially declared members of the Bharatiya Janata Party will be considered Indian citizens. He warned that limiting constitutional rights to party membership drives weakens the country’s democratic structure.

attack on ram temple fund

Turning his attention towards the Ayodhya Ram temple, Owaisi raised serious questions over huge financial irregularities related to donations to the temple. He said that the grand temple was built on the sacred foundation of public faith, but the ruling party has now completely lost its credibility with respect to those funds. Instead of responding to financial irregularities in a transparent manner, the administration’s entire focus is on bulldozing Muslim properties and continuing atrocities against the minority community. He concluded that such distraction tactics were being used deliberately to hide its structural failures and deep corruption.

Assembly Election 2026: This time in the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026, the contest has become very interesting not only between political parties but also regarding the women vote bank. On one hand, TMC under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee has strengthened the women’s brigade by fielding a large number of women candidates and also by putting forward leaders like Shashi Panja and Sayoni Ghosh in the campaign, while on the other hand, BJP has made women’s reservation a big election issue.

Election campaign relying on faces
Mamata Banerjee has fielded her strong women’s brigade to consolidate women votes and counter the BJP. This list includes names like Chandrima Bhattacharya, Shatabdi Roy, Sayoni Ghosh, June Malia, Pratima Mandal, Aditi Munshi, Sayantika Banerjee and Rachana Banerjee.

The party has sharpened the electoral atmosphere by fielding not only experienced leaders but also glamor and young faces. Sayoni Ghosh is connecting youth and women by raising the slogan of ‘Maa, Mati, Manush’ in her rallies, while Rachna Banerjee, Shatabdi Roy and June Malia are directly communicating with women in rural areas.

In response to this, BJP MP and veteran actress Kangana Ranaut created an atmosphere by holding a grand road show in support of BJP candidate Subhendu Adhikari in Nandigram of East Medinipur district. When Kangana, riding in an open jeep, waved to the people on the streets of Nandigram, a crowd of fans and workers gathered.

Lakshmi Bhandar vs Matri Shakti Vandan
‘Lakshmi Bhandar’ scheme is also being promoted vigorously. This is an attempt to strengthen the trust of women towards TMC. Women leaders are going door-to-door and communicating. The state government’s schemes—such as women’s safety, economic assistance and social welfare—are being delivered directly to the voters. The party believes that this direct contact with women can play a decisive role in the election results.

BJP promised to give Rs 3,000 to women
In comparison, BJP has promised to give Rs 3000 under the ‘Matri Shakti Vandan’ scheme. BJP has played a big gamble by keeping women at the centre. If the BJP government is formed, every woman was promised ₹ 36,000 annually. Besides, TMC was also accused of failing to protect women and giving protection to criminals. However, breaking Mamata’s ‘daughter of Bengal’ image is a tough challenge for BJP. At present the party does not have any local face like Mamata Banerjee.

BJP behind women’s reservation
At the same time, BJP is attacking TMC and the opposition by making the non-implementation of the Women’s Reservation Act and its delay a big issue. The party alleges that women have still not received real political representation and it has been limited to election promises. BJP is trying to woo urban and educated women voters through this issue.

Who trusts women so much?
In West Bengal, TMC has given tickets to 52 women candidates. The thinking behind this strategy of Mamata Banerjee is that she will attract women voters in the elections. On the other hand, BJP has given tickets to only 33 women. This is about 11.22 percent of the total candidates. However, in the last elections, BJP had fielded 13% women candidates.

The analysis of candidates before the West Bengal Assembly elections (23 and 29 April) clearly shows that the participation of women in politics is still limited. This time the participation of women among the total candidates is only about 11%. However, TMC is far ahead of other parties in this matter—the party has fielded 52 women candidates out of 291, which is about 27.2%.

At the same time, the alliance of Left parties and CPI(M) has given opportunity to women on 34 (13.43%) out of 253 seats. Congress has fielded 35 (11.9%) women candidates out of 294 seats and BJP has fielded 33 (11.2%) women candidates out of 294 seats, which is the lowest proportion.

There were 41 women MLAs in the last assembly of the state, which is more than the national average of 8%, but still far behind the global average of 24%. Despite the Women’s Reservation Act, the challenge of increasing women’s participation at the grassroots level still remains.

Also read: After PM Modi’s rally in Bengal, BJP candidate said – Our victory is certain, TMC’s departure is certain.

Amidst the process of organizational change in the Bharatiya Janata Party unit of Uttar Pradesh, sources claim that the state may get a new Deputy Chief Minister. If sources are to be believed, the name of former MP Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti is at the forefront in this race.

According to the information, there will be cabinet expansion after the election of UP BJP President. 6 new people can join the cabinet. There are currently 54 ministers in the UP government and a total of 60 can be made.

According to sources, some ministers may also be removed. Samajwadi Party rebels may also get a place in the possible expansion of the cabinet. 2 to 3 rebel ministers can be made.

According to sources, Pankaj Singh, son of Defense Minister and MP from Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency Rajnath Singh and MLA from Noida Assembly seat, can also become a minister.

Along with this, current UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary will join the cabinet. Talking about SP rebels, there is talk of making Pooja Pal and Manoj Pandey ministers. Along with this, there is talk of including Mahendra Singh in the cabinet.

UP BJP President: From 1980-2025 till now, including 6 Brahmins, 3 Kurmi, 1 Lodhi, how many from which caste in 45 years?

According to sources, in the possible cabinet expansion, a minister can be made not only from BJP but also from Rashtriya Lok Dal and Apna Dal. However, all this process will happen after the election of BJP UP President.

Amidst all this, the reaction of UP BJP Chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary has come to light. Regarding organizational changes in the party, Choudhary said that Bharatiya Janata Party is an organizationally big party. Any worker of the organization can become the state president. We have been running the great festival of the organization throughout the year. Now taken to the process of electing the state president. Nominations will be held tomorrow and the state president will be officially announced the day after tomorrow.

Just before the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) by-elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has suffered a major setback. Senior AAP leader and former MLA Rajesh Gupta joined BJP on Saturday (29 November). There has been no immediate reaction from AAP on this development.

Rajesh Gupta has held high positions in the party

Gupta, a two-time AAP MLA, was also the party’s national spokesperson and in-charge of the party’s Karnataka unit. He joined BJP in the presence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi State President Virendra Sachdeva. A statement issued by the Delhi unit of BJP said that Sachdeva welcomed Gupta into the BJP. Sachdeva said that AAP leaders are now counting the shortcomings and problems in Delhi that had arisen during their party’s 12-year rule and yet they are raising questions on the eight-month-old BJP government.

Got emotional while leaving the party

Rajesh Gupta alleged that the ‘biggest reason’ behind the ‘downfall’ of AAP and its leader Arvind Kejriwal was the ‘use and throw’ behavior towards the workers. While joining BJP, Rajesh Gupta became emotional remembering his contribution to AAP, the ridicule he received in return and the behavior of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. Tears also appeared in his eyes.

Rajesh Gupta said that when AAP was formed, many eminent people had happily supported Arvind Kejriwal, but he ‘betrayed everyone’ and one by one, they all abandoned him. He said, ‘Today, unfortunately, I have also been included in that list.’

He claimed that in Ashok Vihar ward, AAP has given ticket for the by-election to a person to whom the party itself has issued a notice. He said, “Despite my years of honesty, truthfulness and loyalty, when I raised my concerns, the party chief was not even ready to talk to me. This is the situation when the party is neither in power in Delhi nor in the MCD.” Gupta claimed that treating workers like ‘use and throw’ is the biggest reason for the downfall of Arvind Kejriwal and AAP.

What did Virendra Sachdeva say?

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that Rajesh Gupta had created a distinct identity for himself as a responsible MLA, but Arvind Kejriwal could not appreciate that identity. He said that the way Kejriwal disappeared from Delhi after losing the assembly elections and the circumstances in which he went, there should be a deep investigation. Sachdeva said that Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia are completely missing, AAP leaders Atishi and Gopal Rai are only making “special appearances” in Delhi. He was referring to the campaign for the Delhi Municipal Corporation by-election.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said on Sunday (June 29, 2025) that his party’s government does not work by asking religion, but it is working towards women empowerment in accordance with the message of Prophet Muhammad Saheb. Chugh mentioned the steps taken by the central government for Muslims, especially Muslim women, while addressing the ‘Development Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ organized by the Uttar Pradesh unit of the BJP Minority Front on the completion of 11 years of the Narendra Modi government at the Center.

The National General Secretary of the BJP said, ‘Our revered Prophet (Muhammad) also ordered for the empowerment of women. He had said that women should move forward, they should have empowerment, they should take training (education). Today we are constantly working to fulfill his message.

Women running the government strong campaign

He mentioned various schemes being run by the government for women empowerment and said, ‘Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, one crore houses have been registered in the name of Muslim sisters. Even about two crore Ujjwala gas connections were given to Muslim sisters, triple talaq was abolished.

Chugh said, ‘This government does not work by asking religion and caste. My minority brothers go ahead, they become doctors and engineers, become professors, become a big person, for this, the government has planned to study further to five crore minority children.

Government sees everyone with the same look

The BJP leader said, ‘Under the Ayushman Yojana, 21 crore Muslims of the country have been provided with insurance facilities up to five lakh rupees. Also, Muslim brothers and sisters are 36 percent of the Mudra scheme. This is the government of Modi ji, who looks at every citizen of the country with the same look.

Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak said on the occasion that the BJP government is the only government which has taken meaningful steps for the welfare of Muslims. So far, whatever governments have been, they used Muslims as a bright leaves and took their vote and left them on their condition. State Minister of State for Minorities Welfare Danish Azad Ansari mentioned various schemes launched by the state government for education and self -reliance of Muslim society.

BJP government is doing good for Muslims

He said that BJP Minority Front state president Kunwar Basit Ali said that the BJP government is definitely working for the good of Muslims. Before that, all the governments, whether it is of Congress, Samajwadi Party or Bahujan Samaj Party, has only used Muslims and that is why their condition is worse than Dalits and this has been proved by the report of Sachar Committee.

He said that programs will be organized in all the districts on the lines of today’s program organized by Morcha on the completion of 11 years of Modi government and Muslim society will be linked to BJP at booth level. The program was also addressed by Minister of State Dayashankar Singh and Baldev Singh Aulakh.
