Us Army Reaction on Lost Black Hawk Helicopter: On May 1 at the US Washington DC, an army helicopter’s contact with air traffic control broke for about 20 seconds. The incident took place near the Pentagon, where the helicopter was about to land. Due to the breakdown of contact, two passenger aircraft landing had to be stopped at Ronald Reagan Airport. According to the army, the helicopter was a black hawk and he was flying on the fixed route. This problem occurred because a temporary control tower antenna was placed in such a place from where the helicopter was not able to contact during the low-level flight. However, now she has been shifted to the roof of the antenna pantagon. The controllers of Washington Airport were also unable to get an exact location of the helicopter, while he was constantly sending data. FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) said that the data from many sources was not clear.

Landing of two aircraft stopped after the incident

Earlier, a FAA official had said that the helicopter probably went out on a tour, but the army records suggest that he flew over the I-395 highway (Route 5) and went straight to the Pentagon. Due to this incident, landing of two aircraft of Delta Airlines and Republic Airways was stopped.

There was a big accident in January

In January 2025, 67 people died in a passenger plane and army helicopter collision in the same area. In March, blowing helicopters on that route was banned. Now after this incident of May, the army has stopped all the flights around Pentagon and is reviewing the security with FAA.
