Meanwhile, mock drills are being organized in all the cities of India, in which people will be told what they have to do in a situation like war. In such a situation, many people have questions about mock drills, some people are asking whether they can get out of the house during this time? At the same time, some people are concerned what things will happen during this time.

What is a mock drill?

Mock drill is a civil defense exercise in which sirens of air strikes are played, like current conditions, cities are blackout, citizens are taken to safe places and emergency teams play their necessary roles. The task of mock drill is to raise awareness among citizens and reduce nervousness, confusion and loss during disaster. Also, its purpose is to show that if the enemy country attacks, then how can the area be kept safe in darkness. Because it makes it difficult to target the enemy. Therefore, a mock drill is done in a situation like war.

Can I get out of the house in mock drill

During the mock drill, black out will be done throughout the city, in which there will be strictly forbidden to light any type of light. It also includes inverter installed in homes, flash lights of mobile and candle etc. Action can be taken against anyone who is found to be violating this rule. If a person is out of the house during a mock drill, then keep the light of his vehicle closed. Apart from this, places where sirens will be played in the city include Raj Bhavan, DSO office, BSNL office, government hostels, stadium and many places. Can get out of the house during mock drills, but during this drill a complete emergency response system will be performed. In this, it will be shown how the police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), hospital and common citizens together will be shown. For which different codewords and timelines have been given.

Where will it happen Mock drill
Mock drills will be done in more than 200 districts of India. Out of which 11 districts of Delhi are going to have mock drills, it is East Delhi, North Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, Central Delhi, South East Delhi, South West Delhi, Shahdara and West Delhi. Meanwhile, the police has increased security at the big market and tourist places in Delhi. Special security forces have been deployed in places like Connaught Place, India Gate, Janpath, Yashwant Place, Gol Market. Apart from this, patrolling is being done. Along with this, the vehicles are being investigated strictly. In this, the police have given instructions to monitor the vehicles especially without rent and registration.

India Pakistan tension: Amid India-Pakistan tension, the Union Home Ministry has taken a big step on Monday (5 April 2025) and directed several states to make mock drills. In the directive issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it was said that the state will organize a mock drill for civil security effectively on 7 May 2025. This is being done so that the safety of the people can be ensured in an emergency.

These things will be emphasized during mock drill

• Playing sirens at the time of alert for air attack.
• Citizens, students etc. should be trained for their own safety at the time of attacks.
• Black out at the attack
• To hide important plants/installations at the time of attack
• Planning and practicing people to evacuate space

Such a mock drill was done in 1971

Earlier such practice was done in 1971, when there was a war between India and Pakistan. The tension between India and Pakistan is at its peak after the Pahalgam terror attack. At such a time, the instructions issued by the Union Home Ministry are very important. Pakistan is fearing that India can attack it anytime. Due to this fear, Pakistan is sometimes pleading in front of the United Nations and sometimes in front of America.

In view of the increased tension between India and Pakistan, the Ferozepur Cantonment Board of Punjab conducted a 30 -minute blackout practice on Sunday (4 May 2025). Blackout exercise was done in the cantonment area from 9 pm to 9:30 pm. The purpose of this practice is to ensure preparation and effectiveness to implement blackout processes during the threat of war.
