His popular films include Shatranj Ke Khiladi (1977), Gandhi (1982), Aashiqui (1990), Veer-Zaara (2004), Kranti (1981) and Parinda (1989). Gavin Packard, born June 8, 1964, was an Irish-American but Indian. Because of his looks and body, he was seen in the role of a villain. Before acting, he was a computer expert and American soldier. He was also a national and state level body builder and was the fitness trainer of Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty and Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera. His mother was Konkani Marathi and he studied in Mumbai. He started his career as a dancer in 1986’s ‘Kala Dhandha Gore Log’.

After this, he entered the Malayalam industry in 1988 and played roles in 60 films in about 15 years, which included Karan Arjun (1995), Sadak (1991), Mohra (1994), Tadipar (1993), Chamatkar (1992), Ilaaka (1989) and Yeh Hai Jalwa (2002). However, he had respiratory disease, due to which he died on 18 May 2012.

He started his career in 1980 with Sanjay Khan’s ‘Abdullah’, but stayed away from films in his 20s.
