According to the report of news agency AFP, local official Issam Nameh said that the explosion occurred inside the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque on Friday afternoon (26 December 2025). Dr. Omar Mohammed’s conspiracy came to light on October 30 when Jammu and Kashmir Police took Muzammil into custody. Dr. Umar had not come to Delhi to carry out the blast, rather the situation had become such that he was afraid of being caught. He had carried out the blast himself, which means it was a suicide attack or an accidental blast. However, the investigating agencies have not yet confirmed this.

Delhi blast investigation handed over to NIA

Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has handed over the investigation of the blast near Red Fort in Delhi to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). NIA is now taking action to fully investigate the blast, trace the network of suspects and arrest those responsible.

Regarding this, a search operation was conducted in Al Falah University, Faridabad. Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired two review meetings on Tuesday to take stock of the security situation in the national capital and other parts of the country in the wake of the blast near the Red Fort.
