A bomb threat has been received on Saturday (February 14, 2026) on an IndiGo airline flight flying from Dibrugarh, Assam to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. This threat was written in a note in lipstick in the washroom inside the Indigo flight. After receiving information that there was a bomb in the plane, it immediately made an emergency landing.

Kolkata airport officials said that after receiving information about a bomb on IndiGo airline flight 6E6894, security agencies were immediately alerted as a precaution. At the same time, the aircraft made an emergency landing safely at Kolkata Airport at 7:37 pm on Saturday (February 14, 2026). Immediately after landing, the plane was taken to the isolation bay as per security protocol.

After reaching the isolation bay, all the passengers on board the plane were deboarded safely and the bomb disposal squad along with the airport security team started thoroughly investigating the flight.

All passengers and crew members are safe: Kolkata Airport

Airport officials said that all the passengers and crew members present on the plane are completely safe and the situation is said to be under control. Security officials are busy investigating this matter.

Threat was also received for the flight from Kolkata to Shillong

Before flight 6E6894 from Dibrugarh to Kolkata, on Saturday (February 14), in the same day, there was information of a bomb in another IndiGo flight 6E7304 from Kolkata to Shillong. In such a situation, within the last 24 hours, threatening information has been received on two planes of Indigo Airlines.

Indigo Airline has issued a statement in this regard. An airline spokesperson said that after receiving information about a bomb on board, the airline immediately informed the concerned authorities and all necessary SOPs as per the security protocol were followed. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our passengers. For us, the security of our passengers, crew members and aircraft is the biggest priority.
