Even before the films released this Friday, two films have been creating ruckus at the box office for the last several days. One of these is ‘Thama’ and the other is Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’.

Even between the recent releases ‘Haq’ and ‘Predator Badlands’, how many viewers are these two films able to garner at the box office and which of these films is on top in earnings today? Know the answers to these questions.

Box office collection of ‘Ek Deewane Ki Diwaniyat’

According to SACNL, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ did a business of Rs 71.45 crore in 17 days. Today i.e. on the 19th day the collection of the film has reached 46 lakhs till 7:45 pm. In this way the film has collected a total of Rs 71.91 crore so far.

Talking about the worldwide collection of the film, the film has collected Rs 99.65 crore in just 16 days. If today’s domestic collection is added to the worldwide earnings of this film made with a budget of only Rs 25 crores, then it reaches above Rs 100 crores. That means Harshvardhan Rane has got the first Rs 100 crore film of his career.

‘Thama’ did business of Rs 127.1 crore in 17 days. Today i.e. on the 18th day, the collection of the film has reached 42 lakhs. That means the film has collected Rs 127.52 crore.

This horror comedy film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna has earned Rs 176 crore worldwide in 17 days. The budget of the film made under the direction of Aditya Sarpotdar is Rs 145 crore. Despite decent buzz and good opening, this film is still yearning for the hit tag.

‘Ek Deewane Ki Diwaniyat’ vs ‘Thama’

‘Thama’ took a good opening and till now has earned more than ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’. But in everyday collections this film is lagging behind Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s film. If we look at today’s collection, the same picture is visible. That means now ‘Deewaniyat’ has started defeating ‘Thama’.

Difficult to get hit tag for ‘Thama’?

‘Thama’ did a business of Rs 24 crore on the opening day itself and included itself in the top 5 opening films of 2025. However, there are still many big difficulties which need to be overcome otherwise this film will not be able to get the title of hit.

• The first difficulty is the budget of the film, which according to Times of India is around Rs 145 crore. According to Saknilk, the film may have made a worldwide collection of Rs 161 crore in 12 days, but the film will still have to earn around Rs 280-290 crore to get the tag of hit.
• Currently, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ and ‘Baahubali The Epic’ are also in the cinema halls, which are attracting the audience. This means that the horror comedy film has to face two competitors, one of which, despite being a decade old, is earning more than ‘Thama’ every day. Both these competing films are working to stop the earnings of ‘Thama’ from increasing.
• Apart from this, today is what it is, from tomorrow onwards the film’s earnings will decrease as soon as it enters weekdays. As happens with every film and has already happened with ‘Thama’ last week. That means weekdays will affect the film’s earnings.
• The new film ‘Haq’ is being released on 7th November and the audience may be attracted towards the new film if it gets positive word of mouth.

It is clear that Thama is facing many difficulties. However, only after the lifetime collection comes, it will be known whether the film will be a hit or not.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror comedy universe film ‘Thamaa’ has been creating havoc at the box office every day since its release on October 21, but as the days progressed, the film’s earnings also started decreasing rapidly.

Since its release on weekdays, the film could not even touch the figure of Rs 6 crore on any day. However, as soon as the film entered the weekend today, it turned around again and captured the box office again. Along with this, it also got included in the top 10 highest grossing films of 2025.

‘Thama’ included in top 10 grossing films of 2025

Fans were hoping that ‘Thama’ would soon be included in the list of top 10 grossing Hindi films of 2025 and this has happened today. The film has confirmed its place at number 10, leaving behind the last in the list, ‘Sky Force’ (113.62 crores).

Now the next target of the film is again Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LLB 3’ which is at number 9 with Rs 117.01 crore.

How much will ‘Thama’ have to earn to become a hit?

According to the report of Times of India, this film, made under the direction of Aditya Sarpotdar, has been made with a budget of Rs 145 crore. According to the report of Saknilk, the film has also made a worldwide collection of Rs 155.25 crore in 11 days.

That is, the film has already made its budget, but to become a hit, the film will have to earn around Rs 140 crore more because the film can be included in the hit category only after earning double the budget. Obviously the film is still far away from the hit tag.
