By understanding things of old times, many hidden secrets of history come to light. In this context, the Epigraphy Division of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has made an important discovery. An old seal has been found in Pakistan, on which Brahmi letters are written. After reading it, it was found that this seal is from the 5th century, which is related to the Sanskrit inscription. According to this, it is 1500-1700 years old. Devadaruvan Swami Koteshwar is written on this seal. This means that it is associated with a Shaiva temple, which was in the Devadaruvan, a forest of pine trees in the Himalayas, and was dedicated to Swami Koteshwar, a form of Lord Shiva.

Head of Epigraphy Wing of ASI K. Muniratnam Reddy has given information about the seal. This seal was shared by Francois Mandeville of Hong Kong with ASI. According to the Epigraphy Division of ASI, this seal is also being linked to the story told in Skandapuran, in which there is mention of Lord Shiva roaming in Devdaruvan. This can be considered the oldest written and pictorial evidence of that story so far.

Big discovery in Peshawar, Pakistan

In the year 2024, ASI had also discovered a 4th century Sanskrit inscription found near the Gilgit area of ​​Pakistan occupied Kashmir. That was also written in Brahmi script. Muniratnam Reddy told that a person named Pushpa Singh had established Maheshwarlinga on the death anniversary of his guru, although the name of the guru was not clearly written. About 5 months before this discovery in Gilgit, ASI had discovered a broken inscription of the 10th century written on a piece of stone found near Peshawar, on which it was written in Sanskrit language and Sharda script was used. There was mention of Buddhist Dharani mantras in it, in the sixth line of which the word Da Dha Rini is written. It is clear from all these discoveries that at that time different religions and traditions existed in this area and the cultural life there was quite rich.
