In the scriptures, this fast is considered to be a symbol of mental fortune, restraint and spiritual power. <p style="text-align: justify;">The form of Goddess Brahmacharini is wearing Japamala and Kamandalu. She is considered the daughter of the Himalayas and the goddess of penance. The scriptures say that <em>Dhyanamagna Tapasacharini, Shuddhavasamanvita. Brahmacharini Matastu, Shantyai Me Varada Bhava</em> That is, O Brahmacharini Mata!
