To compensate for the shortage of Aljari Joseph, the West Indies have included 23 -year -old Zediah blades in the squad. Blades are currently playing in the T20 series against Nepal, which will conclude on 30 September. He will then join the West Indies team for the Test series against India.

Cricket West Indies also revealed that the first all -rounder Jason Holder was contacted to replace Aljari Joseph. But due to the early medical examination, the holder refused to do so.
