The ongoing controversy over power sharing in Congress ruled Karnataka is not showing any signs of stopping. Recently, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had called State Deputy CM DK Shivakumar for a breakfast meeting at the CM residence, after which a statement came from both the leaders that there are no differences now. However, Siddaramaiah had made it clear that this meeting was held at the behest of the party high command. He had said that I will do whatever the high command says.

Just two days after this meeting, today (November 1), DK Shivkumar has created a stir in the state politics by posting on X. Now he has called the Chief Minister for breakfast. DK Shivakumar posted on X, “The Chief Minister and I will continue to work together as a team. I have invited the Chief Minister for breakfast tomorrow to discuss and strengthen our efforts together to fulfill the promises made to Karnataka.”

DK Shivakumar called Siddaramaiah for breakfast meeting

The party high command had called this meeting to control the situation and resolve the matter, but now DK Shivakumar has called the Chief Minister of the state for a breakfast meeting.

After the breakfast meeting with Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar had said that with the support of all of you, we have brought the Congress government and we are working as per our promise. The people of the state are giving their full support. We have to fulfill their wishes. We are working in that direction. Whatever the high command says, we will follow it and there is no factionalism. We are still working together.

Amidst all this, on Friday itself Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were seen on the same stage in a government program. Meanwhile, DK Shivkumar made a comment from the stage praising Sonia Gandhi’s sacrifice in leaving the post of Prime Minister in 2004, which is being considered a taunt on Siddaramaiah in political circles.

What did Karnataka Home Minister say?
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that if the high command wants, he will support DK Shivakumar as the Chief Minister. However, shortly after this, the statement of Siddaramaiah camp minister Zameer Ahmed Khan came out. He said that Siddaramaiah will remain the Chief Minister for his entire tenure.

Winter session will start from December 8
This breakfast meeting is being considered as an initiative of the high command to stop the growing tension in the party. The winter session of the state assembly is going to start from December 8 in Belagavi. In such a situation, Congress wants to send a message to the opposition BJP and JDS that everything is fine within the government. At the same time, Siddaramaiah has made it clear that he is holding this meeting only on the orders of the high command, he will do whatever the high command says.
