Bihar Board 12th Compartment Exam 2026 : Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has issued an important update for class 12th students. This year the 12th board exam was held from 2 February to 13 February 2026. In which a total of 13.17 lakh students participated in this examination, which included 6.75 lakh girls and 6.42 lakh boys. The result was declared on 23 March 2026 and this year 85.19 percent students passed. However, there are some students who have failed in one or two subjects or want to increase their marks. For such students, BSEB has organized intermediate compartmental and special examinations. The board has now extended the last date of application for these examinations to 6 April 2026. Students can still get a chance to save their year.

What is compartmental exam and special exam?

Compartmental examination is for those students who have failed in one or two subjects. By appearing in this examination, students can save their year and get passing marks. It gives a second chance to the students so that their academic career is not affected. Special examination is for those students who could not appear in the main examination due to some reason. This examination is usually conducted along with compartmental examination. The main objective of both is to give students a chance to save their year.

What is the last date of application?

BSEB has extended the last date of application to 6 April 2026. Students wishing to appear in the examination will have to apply online through their school. For compartmental and special examination of Bihar Board, general category students will have to pay a total fee of Rs 260 to appear for the examination, whereas the application fee for compartmental examination has been fixed separately at Rs 150.
