Financial Planning: To strengthen the economic condition of any state, good tax collection is necessary, but sometimes even after earning good income from tax, the economic condition of the states does not become that strong and the reason for this is excessive spending. Merely increasing the income does not strengthen the economic situation, unless the continuous expenses are kept under control. In view of this, the 16th Finance Commission has given an important suggestion to strengthen the economic condition of the states.

In fact, the Commission believes that in some states the income is not increasing as fast as the expenditure is increasing. Therefore, the states will have to try to increase their earnings and along with increasing the earnings, they will also have to reduce their non-essential expenses, so that the economic condition of the state remains better.

Haryana is number 1 in the country in tax collection, Bihar is the worst, report reveals the self-reliance of the states.

Do not take loan beyond your budget

Apart from this, the Commission says that the state should not take more loan than the budget, doing so should be avoided. Even if for some reason a loan has to be taken, all the information related to it will be kept before the people in the budget every year.

Will revenue deficit grant be given or not?

According to the report, this time it has not been recommended to give Revenue Deficit Grant to any state. Not only this, but no separate proposal has been made to provide any special financial assistance to any state or region. Along with this, the Commission has advised that states should spend only according to their earnings. This is why the Commission said that the fiscal deficit of any state should be kept within 3 percent of its total economic capacity and should not be more than this.

People of Sikkim are the richest, Bihar is still the poorest, which states won in per capita income?

Commission gave advice to the states

The Commission says that now states should increase their tax earnings.

Also spend only as per need. If there is no need then control unnecessary expenses.

This will make the state economically stronger.

What effect will this have on people?

This will also affect people like…

If the state becomes economically strong then better facilities will reach the people.

With the strengthening of the economic situation, more money can be spent on facilities like roads, schools and hospitals than before.

The state will not have to take any kind of loan.

A good amount of money will be available for important development schemes.

In future, this money can help in government works.

Vegetable Price: If you are just now thinking how much inflation has increased, then take heart. The picture is going to change further in the coming times. According to media reports, due to weak monsoon and lack of rain, the prices of food items may be affected in the coming time. The biggest concern is for tomatoes and all perishable vegetables. Apart from this, the prices of pulses and rice may also increase, due to which the kitchen budget of common people is in danger of getting spoiled.

Actually, rainfall is decreasing in July due to which both sowing and production of crops can be affected. Then its direct impact will be visible on the market prices in the coming months.

Tomatoes will be expensive!

Let us assume that the prices of tomatoes, onions, green vegetables and other perishable crops are the first to suffer the impact of changes in weather. When there is less rainfall, their supply decreases and due to which they are available at higher prices in the market. Therefore, it is possible that fluctuations in the prices of vegetables may increase in the next few weeks.

Stop wasteful expenditure, increase your income, why did the government say this to the states, what will be the effect on you?

Pulses and rice will also be expensive!

The problem is that not only vegetables, but also the rates of rice and pulses can come under pressure. If the sowing of Kharif season is weak and the crop does not get good rains, then the crop will definitely be affected. In such a situation, it will not be surprising if their prices increase in the coming time.

Why increased concern?

This year the onset of monsoon has not been as expected. Less than normal rainfall has been recorded in many areas. Meteorologists say that if rainfall does not improve, it may affect agriculture. Agriculture being affected means that there will be less supply in the market and prices may increase due to less availability of goods as compared to demand.

People of Sikkim are the richest, Bihar is still the poorest, which states won in per capita income?

Inflation will be affected

The impact of rising food prices will not only affect your pocket, but can also be reflected in the country’s retail inflation. Food inflation may increase if vegetables, pulses and grains become expensive.

Is there a need to panic?

At present, there is no need to panic and buy more than necessary. However, if there is no proper rain in the coming days, then there may be a rise in the prices of vegetables and other food items. Therefore, it is important to keep an eye on the market and weather.

First Hardeep Singh Puri said- ‘Everything is fine’, then Nitin Gadkari admitted- ‘Mileage will reduce’, what is the truth after all?

Credit Card Shopping: In today’s digital era, everyone is using credit cards extensively. Not only this, some people get badly trapped in the trap of ‘cashback’ and ‘reward points’ in the name of credit card. We are saying this because credit card ‘cashback’ and ‘reward points’ are not just offers but have also become a part of deep shopping psychology in today’s era. So let us know in this news how cashback tempts us to spend more and more.

1. The attraction of ‘free’ becomes a big problem

Regarding this matter, some psychologists believe that as soon as we spend cash, our brain feels real pain. At the same time, this pain is felt a little less while using the credit card. Apart from this, the lure of ‘cashback’ completely releases dopamine in our brain, which makes us feel that we are going to get more money.

Woman fined Rs 2560 despite having confirmed train ticket, know this important rule of Railways

2. Know the minimum spending condition here

On the other hand, most cards offer cashback of Rs 500 to customers on purchases worth Rs 50,000. So, while trying to save Rs 500, many times you end up incurring a huge loss of Rs 1,500. For example, if your need is only 3 thousand rupees, then to get 500 rupees, you start buying goods worth 2000 thousand rupees without any thinking. After which you later come to know what a big mistake you have made.

3. Fear of ‘missing out’

Apart from this, the offers given for a limited time do not give us a chance to think much and for a long time, which makes us feel that if we do not buy the item today, we will completely lose this cashback. We often forget that in our hurry, we buy those things which we do not need in any way.

4. Credit card loan cycle?

Gradually, the real danger of cashback starts when we go beyond the budget in pursuit of rewards. For example, if you are not able to pay the credit card bill in full at the end of the month, the bank will charge you 36 percent to 45 percent annual interest on it. In such a situation, even if you are getting cash back of 2 or 5 percent, it will become completely zero in front of the huge interest.

What to do if TTE asks for money to give you a seat in the train? These train tips will be useful for you

After all, how to save yourself from this trap?

To avoid the dangerous trap of cashback, you must think carefully before purchasing anything. Apart from this, do not forget to make a list before purchasing any item. If seen, cashback is a very good option if it is used properly.

After the results of Bihar Assembly elections (2025), Jan Suraj Party leader Prashant Kishore was quiet but he is going to be active once again. On Wednesday (February 04, 2026), a press conference was held by the party in Patna. During this, feedback was given on the recently presented Bihar budget and information was also given about Prashant Kishore’s visit to Bihar.

Party state president Manoj Bharti said that from February 8, Prashant Kishor will go on a tour of Bihar, where he will interact with the public in different districts of the state and take direct feedback on the budget and the current conditions of the state. The question is whether Prashant Kishor has again started preparing to corner the government and expose it? This will be known during the journey.

Party expressed deep concern over Bihar budget

Earlier in the press conference, Jan Suraj Party expressed deep concern over the budget presented by Bihar government on Tuesday. It was said in the press conference that the state budget speech ended in just 11 minutes 43 seconds, which shows how serious the government is towards Bihar and the people of Bihar.

Apart from Jan Suraj state president Manoj Bharti, national spokesperson Saurabh Kumar and media in-charge Obaidur Rahman were also present on this occasion. Saurabh Kumar said that Jan Suraj has raised the question whether it is appropriate to give only 12 minutes for the budget related to the future of a big state like Bihar? This attitude clearly shows how careless the Finance Minister and the state government are regarding the development and public interest of Bihar.

Saurabh Kumar said that the per capita income in the year 2025 was Rs 68,624, which has increased by only Rs 20 in 2026. This increase is negligible and shows the real picture of the economic condition of the state. The government has made budget cuts in important sectors like education and health, while the expenditure on welfare schemes has been increased from Rs 38 thousand crore to Rs 58,909 crore. Senior party leaders said this shows a serious imbalance of priorities.

‘In which sector jobs will be created’

During this, Jan Suraj asked the government in which sector employment and jobs will be created in Bihar in the next five years? In the current situation, if the central government withdraws its cooperation, then Bihar can reach the stage of financial bankruptcy in the next 5 years with 12 percent fiscal deficit.

Union Budget 2026: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the financial year 2026-27 on February 1. Like every time, this time too this budget brought some relief and some pressure for different sectors of the economy. The basic objective of this budget presented on Sunday was to maintain the development, improvement and economic stability of the country. On one hand, while giving priority to development, expenditure on infrastructure has been increased, on the other hand, the government has also shown strictness in some areas to strengthen its revenue position.

What relief to taxpayers?

Talking about relief measures, the government has tried to provide relief to the taxpayers by simplifying the income tax rules instead of giving them direct exemption in tax slabs. This includes giving additional time for filing income tax revised returns, reducing tax penalties and decriminalizing some technical or unintentional mistakes. These measures are expected to reduce mental pressure on taxpayers as well as increase confidence in the tax system.

The government has also relaxed the rules to promote foreign investment. An attempt has been made to make India more attractive for investment by increasing investment limits and simplifying some tax related provisions. Its objective is to increase capital inflows and accelerate economic activities in the long term.

What did consumers get?

From the consumers’ point of view, customs duty on many life-saving medicines and essential medical supplies has been reduced in the budget, which is likely to reduce the cost of treatment. However, a section of consumers have been disappointed due to not getting any special relief on some digital products and items of daily use. Overall, the budget seems to be trying to strike a balance between development and revenue balance, but the relief provided to the common man seems to be limited.

What are the benefits?

Now there will be no customs duty on 17 types of life saving medicines. These include cancer medicines, medicines and special food for seven types of rare diseases.

Customs duty cut on microwave

Customs duty reduction on many types of capital goods increased

Steps taken to increase exports of textiles, leather and marine goods

Share buyback will be taxable and treated as capital gains for all shareholders

Also read: Fitch Ratings’ big statement on India’s Budget 2026, estimates the country’s GDP growth rate

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the General Budget 2026-26 in the Parliament today, Sunday, February 1. Reactions are continuously coming from across the country regarding the Union Budget 2026-27. Meanwhile, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal has given her reaction on the Union Budget.

MP Jagdambika Pal has praised the ninth Union Budget of the country and called it a budget for the growth of youth. On the question of the opposition cornering the government on the budget, he said that we are continuously lagging behind countries like China and America in growth rate. He said that reform, perform and transform is the basic mantra.

BJP MP Jagdambika Pal praised the budget

On Sunday, February 1, at Gorakhpur Airport, senior BJP leader and Dumariyaganj MP Jagdambika Pal, while praising the budget, said that while the present government is patting itself on the back regarding the 9th Union Budget of the country, the opposition is continuously trying to corner the government regarding the budget.

‘Three priorities of the duty of the budget’

He said that the budget is completely a dream budget of Yuva Shakti or Youth Power. Regarding the way this budget has been prepared in Dutva Bhavan, the Finance Minister has said that this budget of ours has three priorities. First, the pace of development should be accelerated and sustained. By competing globally in the manufacturing sector, we gave Rs 10 thousand crores to create a biopharma hub in medicine for the whole world.

‘The corridor will increase the speed of the country’

He said that in the budget, seven corridors have been given to increase connectivity in the country, out of which UP has got two. First from Varanasi to Siliguri and second from Delhi to Varanasi. Certainly, the way airports are increasing, the way high speed rail corridors are increasing, this will also increase the speed of the country. Regarding this budget, it was said that reform, perform and transform are the basic mantras.

In this budget, the graph of TDS in education and health has also been revised to 2 percent. Till now, revenue expenditure was more in the budget, but this is the first time that it was spent on capital expenditure. Till now, after the independence of the country, Rs 12.2 lakh crore has been spent on infrastructure. For example, the biggest expenditure on infrastructure after independence is being made on highways, airports, railways and bullet trains.

MP told what did UP-Bihar get in the ‘Budget’?

What did UP and Bihar get in the budget? On this question, he said that there are Buddhist circuits, high speed corridors, women’s hostels in every district, where will the village women live in the city now. This thing should have been thought of earlier. There will be a trauma center in every district. Emergency hospital facility will be available in every district. On the question of opposition i.e. Akhilesh and Mamata Banerjee cornering the government on the budget, he said that we are continuously lagging behind countries like China and America in growth rate.

Budget 2026: If we understand Budget 2026 as a whole in paragraphs, it shows the government’s strategy in which it is relying more on long-term development planning rather than immediate relief. Emphasizing on capital expenditure, infrastructure, healthcare and connectivity, the Finance Minister clearly indicated that the path to growth will come from big projects.

positive for economy

Announcements like high-speed rail corridor, huge investment for tier-2 and tier-3 cities, Ayurvedic AIIMS and medical hubs can be considered positive for the future economy. Along with this, making medicines for cancer and rare diseases duty free and extending the deadline for revised income tax returns is a practical relief for the common people, although its impact is limited.

On the other hand, the salaried middle class and youth have been most disappointed with the budget. No change in income tax slabs and no tax relief despite inflationary pressure is a big blow to the middle class. Despite the talk of ‘youth-first’, there is a clear lack of new schemes or concrete job incentives to generate employment on a large scale.

Danger of slowing down infrastructure

There is also a danger of slowing down the pace of employment and infrastructure in cities due to cuts in schemes like urban development, metro and internship. Apart from this, there was resentment among retail investors due to increase in STT on F&O trade, the effect of which was reflected in the fall of the stock market immediately after the budget.

Overall, this budget seems to try to strengthen the “economy of tomorrow”, but has not been able to provide the expected relief to the people struggling with “today’s job, today’s income and today’s inflation”. The government has claimed to have laid a strong foundation of development, but how soon the benefits of that development will reach the common man remains the biggest question on this budget.

Also read: An announcement in the budget and the stock market crashed, investors lost Rs 8 lakh crore in one stroke

Traders in Delhi’s Gandhinagar Market have given mixed reactions to the general budget presented by the Central Government. Traders say that this time’s budget is not going to have much impact and it has not given the required attention to the local markets as well as the problems of small businessmen.

‘This time’s budget is nothing special’- Pradhan Praveen Gupta

Praveen Gupta, shopkeeper and head of Gandhinagar Market, Subhash Road Association, while reacting on the budget, said that ‘this time’s budget is nothing special and it is almost the same as last year’s budget’. He said that there is nothing new in this which can give any special benefit to the district or local level traders. Praveen Gupta said that the budget mainly provides relief for people going abroad, where one tax has been reduced from 5 percent to 2 percent.

After this he said that the market situation has remained weak since the Corona period and the government should take concrete steps keeping in mind the situation of the market and small traders.

At the same time, Jitendra Singh, a shopkeeper of Gandhinagar Market and a member of the organization, gave a relatively positive response to the budget. He said that the GST rates on products have been fixed by the government in a balanced manner, which provides relief to traders. According to him, this will benefit not only the traders but also the consumers in the future.

‘If business is not good, then how will traders be able to pay taxes’?

Vice President of Gandhinagar Market Subhash Road Association and shopkeeper Narendra Sharma said that this time the budget has also been normal like last year. He said that at present business is not going well and the problem will not be solved by merely increasing taxes.

They believe that if business does not run properly, how will traders be able to pay taxes? However, he also said that making children’s education affordable abroad is a positive step. Along with this, he termed increasing the prices of liquor and cigarettes as a good decision.

Congress General Secretary and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot has launched a scathing attack on the Modi government regarding the Union Budget 2026. Describing this budget as devoid of a ‘reliable roadmap’, Pilot said that it is limited only to election announcements and this has caused huge disappointment to the general public, especially the youth.

Putting the government in the dock on the issue of employment, Sachin Pilot said that the Finance Minister has announced the schemes, but it is not clear how many youth will get work on the ground. He said that the government did not present any transparent data of previous announcements as to how many jobs were created. Today the youth of the country is struggling with ‘under-employment’ and is worried about the future.

The announcements of the Union Budget 2026 have once again disappointed the general public, especially the youth. The Finance Minister has announced many schemes, but in the absence of a clear and reliable roadmap, it is difficult to understand how many and what real employment opportunities there will be for the youth in the coming times.

— Sachin Pilot (@SachinPilot) February 1, 2026

Ignoring inflation and economic challenges

Criticizing the budget, Pilot said that despite global and domestic economic instability, the government does not have any concrete strategy to control inflation. The common man is already troubled by back-breaking inflation, but no major relief was given to him in the budget.

Neglect of women, farmers and rural economy

The Congress leader alleged that important sections of the society have been ignored in the budget and there is a lack of concrete plans for economic self-reliance. Agriculture was not given the priority it required. Rural Development: The claims of strengthening the rural economy appear hollow and the apathy of the government is clearly visible.

BJP ruled states also ‘cheated’

Sachin Pilot expressed surprise that despite BJP governments in states like Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, no new big project was announced for these states. He described it as a ‘deception’ of the public.

Describing the budget as a failed step towards balanced development, Sachin Pilot has termed it a purely “election budget”, which is far from reality.
