A painful news has emerged from Saudi Arabia regarding Indian Umrah pilgrims. Actually, a bus going from Mecca to Medina collided with a diesel tanker, in which 42 Indians died. This accident in Saudi Arabia happened at a place named Mufrihat at around 1:30 pm Indian time on Monday night. After the bus collided with a diesel tanker, a massive fire broke out in the bus, due to which many passengers got burnt on the spot. According to local Saudi media reports, most of the dead are said to be residents of Hyderabad, Telangana. At the time of this accident in Saudi Arabia, most of the passengers were sleeping in the bus and they did not get a chance to understand. All the passengers in the bus were going towards Madinah for Ziyarat after completing Umrah. But midway the bus collided with a diesel tanker and all the passengers died on the spot. After this accident, relief and rescue work continued till late night. But even after this, identification of many dead bodies is said to be difficult due to the fire. The official number of deaths has not been released yet.

Taking immediate action, the Consulate of India in Jeddah, Saudi has set up a 24*7 control room. Telangana government also created helpline desk in India

Expressing grief over this accident, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed the Chief Secretary and DGP to submit an immediate report. A control room has also been set up in the state secretariat, so that the affected families can be contacted and necessary assistance can be provided. Regarding this accident, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that he has talked to the local travel agency and shared the list of passengers with the Indian authorities and the embassy. Owaisi also appealed to the Central Government to bring back the dead bodies to India and make arrangements for the treatment of the injured. Regarding this accident, Foreign Minister Dr. Jaishankar posted that he is deeply shocked by this incident. He said that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate in Jeddah are providing all possible assistance to the affected families.
