Down syndrome symptoms: A few years ago, in 2007, a film appeared, titled ‘Tare Zameen Par’ in which Aamir Khan showed the story of a child who was weak in studies, but his fantasies were infinite. That film told us that every child is special. Now on June 20, a special film is going to come once again. Many of the children shown in this film are suffering from down syndrome. However, this is not a disease, but a biological condition, which is very important for our society to understand and accept.

What is Down syndrome?

Down syndrome is a genetic condition that occurs when an additional copy of a human’s 21st chromosome is present in the body. That is, where a normal person has 46 chromosomes in the body, while a person with down syndrome has 47. This additional chromosome affects their development, learning and physical texture. It is not an infection nor can it be ‘imposed’ from anyone else. This happens from birth and the whole life remains like this.

How are the symptoms of Down syndrome?

Its symptoms may be slightly different in every person, but some common signs are included.

This does not mean that people with Down syndrome cannot do anything. With the right care, love and encouragement, these children can also read and write, move forward in art, music and sports.

This is a life long condition, which cannot be fully corrected. But correct treatment, therapy and practical cooperation can help these children live a normal life.
