On Saturday (September 20, 2025) at many big airports in Europe, passengers faced a lot of trouble when a cyber attack stalled the check-in and boarding system. The impact of this attack was seen, especially at Heathro, Brussels and Berlin Airport in London, where thousands of passengers were affected due to delays and cancellations.

This cyber attack affected the services of Collines Aerospace, which provides check-in and boarding systems to airlines and airports around the world. The company confirmed that technical disturbances are related to cyber attack and said that their team is busy solving the problem as soon as possible.

Heathro Airport warns passengers
Heathro Airport in London warned the passengers that there was a possibility of delay in departure and they appealed to the people to continue to investigate the status of their flights. Automatic check-in and boarding at Brussels Airport were completely closed, due to which the employees had to do the process of passengers manually.

The airport administration admitted that it had a direct impact on the time of flights and many flights had to be canceled. Similarly, Berlin Airport released information on its website saying that due to the technical problem, passengers may have to wait long during check-in, although efforts are on to resolve the problem rapidly.

Poland and other airports are not affected
Meanwhile, some big airports in Europe reported relief. Germany’s Frankfurt Airport and Switzerland’s Zurich Airport continued to function normally and clarified that the attack on their services had no effect. Poland Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Affairs Minister Krisstof Gavkovski also issued a statement saying that there is no threat to his country’s airports. He said that the situation is constantly being monitored and Polish officials are in touch with other European countries.
