The best time for sowing capsicum is from February to April and then from September to November. If you live in cold areas, it is best to apply it in the beginning of summer. In hot areas, it is better to grow it in winter, so that the plants do not suffer from excessive sunlight or heat.

Loose, rich in organic fertilizers and well-drained soil is best for capsicum. If you are planting a plant in a pot, then keep 50% garden soil, 25% cow dung manure or compost and 25% sand or coco peat.

First of all, buy capsicum seeds from a nursery or online store. Fill soil in a small pot or tray and put seeds in it to a depth of half an inch. Lightly cover it with soil and sprinkle water. The seeds take 7 to 10 days to germinate. When the plant grows 3-4 inches, transfer it to a bigger pot or to the ground.

Capsicum should get at least 5 to 6 hours of sunlight daily. If you live in a flat or apartment, then keep it at a place where direct sunlight falls like a balcony or terrace. Give water a little every day. The soil should be moist but not too wet. If there is too much water, the roots may rot.

Apply organic fertilizer (like cow dung or vermicompost) once every 15 days. If you want the fruits to grow early and be of good size, lightly dig the soil around the plant occasionally to allow air circulation. When the plant starts flowering, make sure that it is getting enough sunlight and moisture.

Sometimes small insects or aphids attack capsicum plants. To remove them, do not spray any chemical, instead use homemade neem oil spray. Mix 2 teaspoons of neem oil and a little liquid soap in 1 liter of water. Fill this mixture in a spray bottle and spray it on the plants every 5-7 days.
