On November 10, at around 6:52 pm, there was an explosion in a white i20 car near the Red Fort in Delhi, which sent vibrations reaching the metro station 40 feet below the ground. As the investigation revealed layers of this blast, the links were linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed. Ultimately, in the Union Cabinet meeting on 12 November, it was declared a terrorist attack and on 18 November, the video of the attacker also came out. In ABP Explainer, let us understand the events of the last 10 days of Delhi blasts…

Question 1- How many deaths have occurred so far in the Delhi car blast and how many are injured?
answer- According to the police, till November 19, 15 people have died in the Delhi blast and more than 20 people are injured. On November 18, two more people died, including Vinay Pathak and Lukman.

When the blast occurred on November 10, the news started with 8 deaths and 25 injured, which grew to 10, 13 and now 15 deaths. The injured were admitted to LNJP Hospital in Delhi, where treatment is still going on. The explosion was so fierce that about a dozen vehicles parked nearby were destroyed and pieces of dead bodies were collected from the road.

Question 2- What was the purpose of Delhi car blast and how successful was it?
answer- During interrogation, police and investigating agencies found that the terrorists wanted to take revenge of Babri Masjid. In this case, Dr. Shaheen was arrested from Faridabad, who is associated with the intelligence network of Jaish-e-Mohammed. Shaheen’s diary and notes were seized, which mention Mission ‘D-6’. The terrorists wanted to carry out blasts at many places including Delhi on 6th December, the anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid. For this he had arranged 32 cars.

Bombs and explosive material were to be filled in these cars and the blasts were to be carried out. These included vehicles like Brezza, Swift Dezire, EcoSport and i20. According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the i20 in which Dr. Umar carried out the blast was purchased through OLX. Amit Patel, owner of Royal Car Zone in Faridabad, had told that the address of the ID given to buy the car was of Pulwama. There was another person with the car buyer Aamir Rashid, his name is not known. The car was blasted before the time given for naming it.

Question 3- How many arrests were made till the completion of 10 days of the blast and the search for how many is still going on?
answer- Till November 18, more than 20 arrests have been made…

• On November 9, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, was arrested from Faridabad. He was a teacher at Al-Falah University, Faridabad. A day before the blast, 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate and weapons were recovered, when Dr. Muzammil was also arrested. It was involved in explosives accumulation and radicalization. Only after his arrest, Dr. Umar Nabi got scared and hurriedly carried out the blast.
• Dr. Adeel Majeed Rather was arrested from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. AK-56 rifle and ammunition were found from him. He used to do arms supply and recce work in the module.
• Dr. Shaheen Saeed was arrested from Lucknow. She was handling the responsibility of forming the women’s wing of Jaish. Caught due to link with Faridabad module just before the blast. AK-47 was also recovered from Shaheen’s car.
• Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Waghe of Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir arrested. He was involved in radicalizing the module and putting up Jaish posters.
  Jamir Ahmed arrested from Wakura, Jammu and Kashmir. He was helping in radicalization.
• Aamir Rashid Ali arrested from Delhi. The car that was blasted was registered in his name. Conspired with Umar and helped in purchasing and supplying a car in Delhi. NIA took him into custody for 10 days.
• Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish arrested from Srinagar. Umar’s close associate was providing technical support in making bomb attacks and rockets by modifying drones. There was planning for a Hamas style attack, in which this was also included.
• Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, who is the chairman of Al-Falah University, was arrested. There are allegations of promoting terrorism in the university. The university falsely claimed that it was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), which was not the case.
• Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir has detained Dr. Omar Farooq Bhat and his wife Shahzada Akhtar for their alleged involvement in illegal activities. Objectionable material has also been seized from them.
• Dr. Adil Ahmed, Dr. Sajjad Ahmed and Dr. Parvez Ansari have also been arrested. These people are the doctors included in this module.
• 9 suspects were also arrested from Kanpur. These were associates of local suppliers or modules, who were helping in explosives or logistics. The names have not been made public, but they are in the custody of NIA.
• Some more doctors and students from Faridabad and Haryana were also detained. In Assam, 17 people were arrested separately for praising the blast on social media.

The police had also detained terrorist Dr. Umar’s two brothers, mother and father. His interrogation is ongoing. Umar’s brother Zahoor admitted during interrogation that he had thrown Umar’s phone in water and had done so only on Umar’s request.

According to Zahoor Ilahi, Umar was in Kashmir from 26 to 29 October. While handing over his mobile to Zahoor, he had said that if any news comes about me then destroy this mobile and throw it in water. Srinagar SP GV Sandeep Chakraborty said that Zahoor also gave information about the place where the mobile was thrown. After this the mobile was taken out and it was badly broken. Later experts recovered the data from the mobile.

Question 4- Where were the raids conducted and what was recovered?
answer- Raids were conducted at many places in the last 10 days. These raids were mainly to break the ‘white collar terror module’ associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, which was operating from Al-Falah University as its base. The first raid-

• It happened on November 9, when Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police raided a rented house in Dhauj village of Faridabad. 350 kg of ammonium nitrate based explosives, assault rifles (AK series), handguns, timing devices and explosive materials were found from here. The house was taken on rent by Muzammil Ahmed Ghani. A few hours after this raid, there was a blast in Delhi.
• On November 10, another house was raided in Faridabad, from where an additional 2563 kg of explosives (over 2913 kg in total), chemicals, reagents, inflammable materials and electronic circuits were found.
• Apart from this, raids were conducted in Shopian, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Anantnag and Kulgam of Jammu and Kashmir. Arms, ammunition and IED material were recovered from here. People like Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Waghe (Shopian) and Jamir Ahmed (Ganderbal) were caught.
• On 13 November, a raid was conducted at Al-Falah University campus, where a suspicious Brezza car was found, which was investigated by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Bomb Disposal Squad. Bomb squad and sniffer dogs were also deployed in the university.
• On November 14, the army demolished the house of main accused Umar Nabi in Quil village of Pulwama.
• On 16-18 November, NIA conducted raids in Srinagar and Anantnag, where Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish was arrested.

Apart from this, raids were conducted in many areas of Saharanpur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Wazirpur Industrial Area, Mewat, Assam, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Question 5- How much and what evidence was found within 10 days?
answer- Between 10 and 19 November, the police found many evidences, which included CCTV footage, digital data, interrogation of the arrested accused and Omar’s video…

• 12 November 2025: The clearest CCTV footage of the blast was released. In this, the car stops at the red light at the Red Fort crossing and suddenly a red fireball is formed. Footage was found of Sunehri Masjid parking, in which the car entered at 3:19 pm and remained parked till 6:48 pm. Umar went to the mosque, came out and connected the detonator and drove away with the car, then detonated it.
• 13 November 2025: Found footage of Mewat Toll (Nuh, Haryana), in which Umar was seen driving a car early in the morning. CCTV of Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque (Turkman Gate) was found, in which Umar was seen walking and praying near the mosque a few hours before the blast. Footage was found of Asif Ali Road, in which Umar was seen walking without a mask. Old footage was found of Al-Falah University campus, in which the car was parked from 29 October to 10 November. Umar’s 24-hour route map was made from a total of 50+ CCTV cameras.
• 14 November 2025: During the search of Omar’s house (Pulwama), digital devices were found which contained radicalization content.
• 16 November 2025: NIA arrested Umar’s associate Aamir Rashid Ali, chats about buying a car were found from his phone. Umar’s entire route in Delhi was traced with 40 cameras.
• 17-18 November 2025: The biggest evidence of Umar Nabi was found in his own recorded undated video (recovered from a digital device), in which he says in broken English that one thing that was not understood was that this was a martyrdom operation and not a suicide attack. There are many contradictions regarding this. In fact, for martyrdom operation, it is believed that a person sacrifices his life at a certain place and at a certain time.

Apart from this, Dr. Shaheen’s diary, notes, Aamir Rashid Ali’s statement, Danish’s statement and Zahoor’s statement are also included.

Question 6- What is the situation now at the place where the blast took place in Delhi?
answer- The blast site was cordoned off and the Red Fort metro station remained closed till 15 November, but has now opened. However, security has been increased. The entire country is on high alert and police and NSG teams are deployed at the site.

Question 7- After all, where did the police go wrong in this entire blast?
answer- In this entire conspiracy, the police made mistakes at 8 places…

1. Laxity despite finding 2900 kg of explosives: The quantity of ammonium nitrate found in Faridabad was so large that major attacks could have taken place in entire Delhi-NCR, but despite this, Delhi Police or IB did not issue any high alert. Umar entered Delhi from Faridabad on the morning of 10 November, but no checking was done.
2. Omar was allowed to roam in the VVIP zone: From morning to evening on 10 November, Umar roamed around without fear in the most sensitive areas like India Gate, Constitution Club, Sansad Marg, Red Fort and Jama Masjid. His entire route has been traced in more than 1300 CCTV cameras, but he was not stopped or identified at even a single place.
3. No action on Al-Falah University: This university was already considered a hub of radicalization. There were old cases against many teachers and students, but the local intelligence or Haryana Police did not keep any strict surveillance.
4. No monitoring of explosives supply chain: Ammonium nitrate was purchased from dealers in Mewat. How did such a huge quantity reach without any license or check? There was record of purchase and sale, but no alert was sent.
5. Ignored the input of Jammu and Kashmir Police: Jammu and Kashmir Police was already aware of this module as several arrests were made in October, but this input was not properly shared with Delhi Police or IB or action was not taken on it.
6. Movement of the blasted car not tracked: The white i20 car was registered in the name of Aamir Rashid Ali. The car came to Delhi from Faridabad, crossed several tolls, but there was no alert from FASTag or number plate. It could have been tracked as soon as it entered Delhi.
7. Lapse in High Threat Period: It was just after Diwali and before the anniversary of 26/11. The original plan was for 6th December (the anniversary of Babri demolition). Even during such a high threat period, there was less blockade or vehicle checking in the central area of ​​Delhi.
8. Zero monitoring of radicalized doctors: This was the first time when such an educated doctor was involved in the terrorist module. The focus of intelligence was always on madrassas or poor areas, there was no preparation for ‘white collar terror module’.

Indian government admits terrorist attack, 12 people lost their lives in the blast

On Monday (November 10, 2025) in Delhi, a big explosion occurred in a car parked at the traffic signal near Gate No. 1 of the Metro station outside the Red Fort. 12 people lost their lives in this explosion, and 20 people were seriously injured, who are undergoing treatment. On Monday (10 November) evening in the country’s capital Delhi, there was a massive explosion in a car parked near the Red Fort metro station. There was chaos everywhere after the car blast

The intensity of the car blast was so high that many vehicles parked nearby were burnt to ashes and there was chaos on the road. According to eyewitnesses, after the blast there were flames all around and injured people were screaming for help. The injured also include Ankush Sharma (28) and Rahul Kaushik (20), who were returning from Gauri Shankar Temple. About 80 percent of Ankush’s body got burnt in the blast and his condition remains critical.

Signs of suicide attack to police

Preliminary investigation by Delhi Police has indicated that the blast could have been a ‘fidayeen’ (suicide) attack. Investigation has revealed that the suspect had planned to carry out this suicide attack immediately after receiving information about the capture of the Faridabad module. According to sources, all the concerned agencies are working on every aspect to find out the motive behind the blast.

High alert in the entire city after the blast

After the blast, Delhi Police has increased security in the entire city. All the railway stations of the capital have been put on high alert. Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP) and dog squads have been deployed at major stations. Employees have been instructed to remain alert, while checking and patrolling of passengers has also been increased.

Big revelation in preliminary investigation

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the blast was caused by a highly explosive substance, due to which many nearby vehicles were destroyed and even the windows of nearby buildings were broken. The forensic team is examining samples of the debris to find out what type of explosive was used in the blast. After this incident, Delhi Police has registered a case under UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) and Explosives Act.

Sources say that the suspect was probably waiting for some order or signal to carry out the blast. This clearly indicates that the attack was part of a pre-planned and organized terrorist conspiracy.

9 people lost their lives and many were injured in the car explosion near Red Fort in Delhi. Delhi Police has registered an FIR under several sections including Terrorism and Explosives Act.

A Delhi Police spokesperson said that the FIR includes sections 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), which relate to punishment for terrorist acts and supporting terrorism. Police have also invoked Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act regarding illegal possession and use of explosives in the incident.

Which sections of UAPA were imposed?
According to Live Law, Section 16 deals with punishment for any terrorist act already committed. If someone dies due to this act, then the person responsible for such act has to pay life imprisonment or death penalty along with a fine. On the other hand, Section 18 of UAPA focuses on planning, conspiring or assisting in committing any terrorist act. Anyone aiding, abetting, inciting or preparing terrorism can still be prosecuted, even if the act did not actually occur.

Apart from this, Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act have also been imposed in the Delhi car blast case. This Act deals with illegal possession and use of explosives in the incident. Authorities have also included provisions for murder and attempted murder charges covering the deaths and injuries caused by the blast.

2 people in police custody
A high-intensity explosion took place in a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station on Monday, killing nine people and destroying several vehicles, officials said. Police said that three people were traveling in the car which exploded. He said that they are also investigating whether it was a suicide attack.

At least two people named Salman and Devendra have been detained in the Red Fort blast case. Both of them are the owners of the Hyundai i20 car in which the explosion took place.
