In IGMC of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, resident doctors are divided among themselves regarding the doctor-patient assault case. While one side is talking about ending the strike from December 29, the other side has decided to continue the strike. The striking doctors are saying that the strike will continue until they get written assurance of Dr. Raghav’s reinstatement.

While RDA President Sohail Sharma said that they have decided to end the strike after the assurance of the Chief Minister. Although some doctors have expressed their displeasure, efforts will be made to meet the demand for security of doctors by talking to the Chief Minister. He told that the strike will end from tomorrow and patients will get services like every day.

Impact of strike on health services

However, the strike in IGMC continued for the third day on Sunday, more than three thousand doctors from across the state were on strike, due to which health services collapsed. Here, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu appealed that doctors should leave their ego and join duty. After that talks will be held.

Demand for reinstatement of doctor dismissed in case of assault on patient

Resident doctor IGMC is adamant on the demand for reinstatement of Dr Raghav Nirula, who was dismissed after the incident of assault on a patient in Shimla. Due to this strike, the problems of patients in medical colleges and hospitals across the state have increased. Many operations were postponed due to the strike.

Doctors on strike in protest against departmental action

It is noteworthy that the resident doctor had gone on leave since Friday in protest against the departmental action against Dr. Raghav. However, today the resident doctors were seen divided into two factions. But RDA has said that doctors will do duty from December 29. Now it remains to be seen whether all the doctors return to duty on Monday or factionalism will be seen.
