CBSE Re-Evaluation 2026: Lakhs of CBSE board students are waiting for re-checking of their answer sheets. Central Board of Secondary Education i.e. CBSE can open the re-evaluation and verification portal for class 12th students from June 1. Only those students who had earlier applied for photocopy of their answer sheet will be able to take part in this process. Students will also be able to apply by visiting the official website of the board, cbse.gov.in.

Actually, this time the evaluation process of CBSE remained in many questions. After the release of the results, students and parents had raised questions regarding low marks, unchecked answers, incomplete verification and problems related to the portal. Meanwhile, students applied to see their copies. According to board data, more than 4 lakh students applied to access the answer sheets, while more than 11 lakh answer sheets were demanded. A large number of these copies have been made available to students digitally. In such a situation, let us now tell you how students can check the correct evaluation of their copy.

How to check correct valuation?

CBSE has advised students to first download the marking scheme of their question paper. This scheme will be available along with the question paper on the board’s website. After this, students can match the answers given in their copy with the marking scheme. If marks have not been given in any question despite the correct answer or any answer has not been checked, then students can note it clearly. While applying, it will be necessary to tell what mistake was made in any question, so that the board can take proper action on it.

How much will be the fee for re-evaluation?

According to the information released by the board, for verification, a fee of Rs 500 will have to be paid for the answer sheet, while for re-evaluation, Rs 100 will have to be paid per question. However, after the recent controversies, the board has changed the fees of some services. The board has also said that if the re-evaluation marks increase then the related fees can be refunded.

What things should be checked during re-evaluation?

Students will have to check in their copy whether all the questions have been checked or not, whether any page is missing, whether there has been a mistake in adding numbers and whether any answer has been left unchecked. If marks are less in any question then re-evaluation can be applied for the same question. The board has made it clear that after re-evaluation the marks may increase, decrease or may remain the same. Only the marks released after re-verification will be considered final.

Controversy increases regarding OSM system

Actually, this time CBSE had used On Screen Marking i.e. OSM system to check the copies of Class 12. In this, examiners check the scanned digital copy instead of the physical copy. The board says that this will make the process faster and transparent, but after the release of the results, students made many complaints on social media. Some students alleged that their copies were incompletely checked, while others reported problems like scanning and portal crashes.
