An interesting truth about CBSE 12th results has been continuously coming to light for the last ten years. Every year results come, figures change, pass percentage goes up and down, but one thing does not change, girls are always ahead of boys. Earlier the difference was more, now it has reduced but till date this difference has not been completely eliminated. Before the results of 2026, this trend of the last decade is once again in discussion, where the gender gap has reached its lowest level, yet the lead is in the name of girls.

According to media reports, CBSE 12th results do not just tell the story of marks, they also show the picture of the society changing with time. If we look at the data from 2015 to 2025, it clearly shows that girls have been performing better than boys every year. The difference is that earlier this difference was quite big, now it has gradually reduced.

In the year 2015, the pass percentage of girls was 87.56%, while that of boys was 77.77%. That means a difference of about 9.79 points. This was considered a big difference. But with time the boys also improved their situation. They increased their pass percentage by more than 10 points, which was almost twice the rate of increase for girls. Despite this, girls remained ahead every year.

Also read- A ball of this cannon had created a ‘lake’! Fired only once in 200 years; Named after the king

there was so much reduction

By 2025, the pass percentage of girls will reach 91.64%. Boys also improved a lot, but the gap did not disappear completely. Now this difference has reduced to around 6 points. This means that the gender gap has decreased by 39% in ten years, which is considered a big change.

The most interesting change in this entire period was seen between 2019 and 2020. In this one year, the gender gap reduced from 9.30 points to 5.96 points. This was the time when the examination system changed due to the pandemic and a rapid increase in the overall pass percentage was seen. This also affected the gender gap.

The lead continues even today

After 2023, when the examination system became normal, this difference again became stable and remains around 6 points. That means boys definitely improved, but girls’ lead still persists. This trend is not limited to education only, but it shows that girls have now made a strong hold at every level of education. Continuously better performance proves that their seriousness, hard work and consistency keep them ahead when it comes to studies.
