The class 10th and 12th board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are to be conducted in February 2026 and now preparations for it have started in full swing in schools. Pre-board examinations are being organized in the month of December to test the preparation of students before the examination.

The Directorate of Education has announced the dates of these pre-board examinations for government and aided schools. Class 10 exams will start from December 11 to December 20, 2025, while Class 12 pre-board exams will be conducted from December 11 to December 27, 2025. These examinations will be conducted in a completely centralized manner so that the actual preparation level of the students can be known.

Along with government schools, private schools will also conduct pre-boards at their level, although their dates will vary. Pre-board examinations are no less than a final rehearsal for the students, because they decide how well the students can handle the pressure of the board exams.

Exams will be held in two shifts

According to the Directorate of Education, pre-board examinations in government schools will be conducted in two shifts. The timing of examination in the morning shift will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 noon. The examination will be held in the evening shift from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to make many major changes from the 2026 board examinations, which will change both the methods of education and preparation for the examination in the coming time. Now APAAR ID will be necessary for every student.

CBSE has made it clear that every student appearing in the 2026 board examinations should have APAAR ID. This is a unique digital ID in which all the academic records of the student- such as marksheets, certificates and other documents will be saved. This ID will be valid for a lifetime and this will eliminate the problem of fraud or duplicate records.

Now schools will have to create APAAR ID of all students from 9th to 12th standard so that all the formalities can be completed before the examination. If you are in class 9th or above, then get your ID constructed as soon as possible.

Increase in examination and registration fees

CBSE has increased fees by about 6.66% from 2025-26 session. The board says that there was no change in the fees from 2020, but in the meantime the expenditure on examination, staff and other arrangements has increased manifold.

A subject fee for class 10 and 12 in India will be Rs 320, Rs 1600 for five subjects. Practical fees for 12th will be Rs 160 and registration fee for class 9 and 11 will be Rs 320. In Nepal, a subject fee will be Rs 1100, Rs 5500 for five subjects, practical Rs 175 and registration fee of Rs 550 or Rs 660.

Also read- Sam Manekshaw, Brigadier Mohammad Usman and Major Somnath Sharma will read the stories of students, big changes in NCERT’s syllabus

Whereas in other countries, a subject fee will be Rs 2200, Rs 11,000 for five subjects, practical Rs 375 and registration fee of Rs 550 or 660. Earlier, the board used to get income from the migration certificate, but now it is not necessary, so the fee has become a source of main income.

Changes have an impact on students

After these changes, there will be both new opportunities and challenges in front of the students. Your educational record will always be saved from APAAR ID. The increase in fees means that families will have to plan the budget budget in advance. AI Center will open a new door of technical education, especially for those who want to learn new things.

ALSO READ- MCC again extended date for NEET counseling, now these days will be released on the seat allotment of round-1

In the last few days, there has been a lot of changes in the CBSE board examination pattern. Now the board has approved the implementation of Open Book Assessment in Class 9 under NCFSE 2023. This change will start from academic session 2026-27. This concept is completely new for the students and they do not know anything about it. In many countries, it has been going on for many years.

Open book exam is not a new experiment. It started several hundred years ago in Law colleges in Europe. After many years, it gradually spread to other colleges and universities. In today’s time, the system is adopted up to high school levels in the United Kingdom’s A-Lvel Examination, most of the universities in the Netherlands, some colleges in the US, Singapore and Hong Kong, and in some states of Canada.

Also read- CO Anuj Chaudhary, who came into the limelight from Sambhal violence, became a big gift, ASP; Now you will get so much salary

What is the open book exam?

In this system, students can use books, notes and other study materials during the examination. It seems very easy to hear. For example, the question came and found the book and found the answer. But the real challenge starts from here. Here it is not useful to copy the line from only the book. The numbers will be found only when the student understands the answer and writes in his language.

Students should know which topic the question is related to, what is its concept and how you can explain it in your words. Such an examination tests the deep understanding, analysis capacity and practical knowledge of the students.

Focus on more understanding than rote

According to reports, most of the students of the country take the exam by hitting it. But this method proves to be useless in the open book system. Here it is to understand the topic well and make its true meaning. This is the reason that this system can get students out of the habit of rote.

Also read- Candidates out of the final list will get a new opportunity, even after passing in UPSC, this scheme will open the way

What are its benefits

The habit of rote will be less, students will study with understanding.

The ability to think and analyze will increase. Use of brain will be necessary to solve every question.

In the real world too, we take reference to solve the problem, the same thing is taught here.

Due to the book being together, there is less fear in the mind that do not forget anything.

These can be damaged

The results of 10th and 12th class will be released by the Central Board of Secondary Education very soon. Millions of students are waiting for the results. The wait for these students can end anytime now. But the board has taken a big decision before the date of release of the result. Let’s know what is that decision …

In fact, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made a big change in the revaluation process to be held after the 10th and 12th board examinations. This change has been made with the aim of giving students more transparency and self -sufficiency. Now students will be the first to see photocopies of their tested answer books and only then they will be able to apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation.

What is the new process?

Under the new system, students will first get photocopies of their evaluation answer sheets from CBSE. After this, they will be able to see how many marks have been received for which answer and how much has been cut in which question. This transparency will help them decide whether to apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation.

There will be three main stages in the new process

Get photocopy of the answer book.

Get the points verified (if there is a mistake in adding joints or marks).

Apply for re-regulation (if the evaluation of answers is suspected).

Also read: Illegal recovery in Jamia! Money in the name of keeping bags and mobiles from students who come to give entrance exam; There was a ruckus after the video went viral

How did the process happen earlier?

Earlier, students first had to apply for verification of marks. After that they could get photocopy and then the process of re-evaluation started in the final stages. But now it has been changed so that students can already understand why and how they have got the points. CBSE says that this change has been made to give more clarity to students and reduce assessment confusion. This will help the students to take the correct decision of re-evaluation.
