The re-evaluation portal launched for lakhs of CBSE students has suddenly become a topic of discussion. This time the reason is not the result or re-checking, but a major technical glitch encountered on the portal. According to reports, there was an alleged malicious attack on the payment system of the portal, after which around 50 students got unauthorized access to the system. Due to this, many strange and shocking problems related to fee payment came to light.

According to the information, when students started applying for re-evaluation, in some cases the fee amount started appearing completely different from normal. For some students the fee was only Rs 1, while for others the amount increased to Rs 67 to 68 thousand. This sudden change in fees surprised both students and parents.

Sources say that this glitch came to light in the payment gateway linked to the portal. Initial investigation has revealed that some people entered the system in an unauthorized manner, due to which a change in the fee amount started appearing. Officials believe that in some cases this act may have been done as a joke, while in some cases there may be malicious intentions behind it.

When this problem came to light, the functioning of the portal was also affected. Many students complained that they were not able to apply on time. The services of the portal were also affected for some time. After this, the technical teams immediately started investigating the matter and tried to reach the root of the problem.

According to government sources, the fee amount was found changed in the cases of about 50 students. This was the reason why questions started being raised regarding the payment process on the portal. However, officials have made it clear that the problem has been taken seriously and work is being done to make the system more secure than before.

After this whole matter, the Education Ministry also became active. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on May 24 and discussed the problems faced by the students. It was decided in the meeting that the payment system of CBSE will be strengthened so that such problems do not happen again in future.

For this, four big government banks have also been connected to the system. These include State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Indian Bank and Bank of Maharashtra. The payment gateways of these banks are being linked with the CBSE portal so that the payment process can become more secure and reliable.

Help is being taken from big institutions

The help of some big technical institutes of the country is also being taken to investigate the matter. Experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur are investigating this entire system. The team of Digital Infrastructure Corporation of India is also working with them. Experts are closely examining the code, payment system and security system of the portal so that any weaknesses can be removed.

The technical teams say that their aim is to create a system that is completely secure and can provide services to the students without any hassle. For this, continuous testing is being done and new security layers are being added.

Shifted to AWS

Sources also said that earlier some problems related to space and capacity were emerging on the portal. Due to a large number of students logging in simultaneously, the pressure on the system was increasing. For this reason, the portal has now been shifted to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. This will increase the capacity of the portal and the system will be able to work smoothly even when a large number of users come.
