The board has clarified that this step has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the current situation in these countries. However, the examinations have not been cancelled, but only postponed.

In view of the current situation in many countries of the Middle East, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a big decision. Keeping in mind the security and uncertainty of the situation, the board has for the time being canceled the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations to be held on March 2, 2026. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) gave this information in the official notice. The board has clearly stated that due to the current circumstances in some parts of the Middle East, this decision has been taken giving priority to the safety of the students.

In which countries the exam has been cancelled?

This decision will be applicable to all those CBSE schools. Which are located in countries like Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. All the board examinations of class 10 and 12 to be held on March 2, 2026 will not be held in these countries.

CBSE has said that new dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later. Currently, students have been advised not to believe any rumor or fake news spreading on social media. The board has also said that the situation will be reviewed again on March 3, 2026. After this, the final decision will be taken regarding the examinations starting from March 5. This simply means that if the tension in the area is not reduced, then the dates of further examinations can also be changed, that is, there is a possibility of further amendments in the examination schedule.

This notification issued by CBSE has also been sent to the Indian diplomatic missions located in the respective countries. These include Indian embassies in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Muscat (Oman), Doha (Qatar), Manama (Bahrain), Kuwait City and Tehran (Iran), as well as the Consulate General of India in Dubai and the CBSE regional office there.
