In Bollywood, people give the example of the relationship between Javed Akhtar’s ex-wife Honey Irani and his wife Shabana Azmi. Despite separating from Javed Akhtar years ago, Honey is often seen with both of them on special occasions. Honey is always present with Javed and Shabana on birthdays, Eid celebrations or small parties.

Recently, in a conversation with Vicky Lalwani, Honey told that their friendship is completely made from the heart and the old grudges are no more.

Isolation does not mean anger
Honey made it clear in the interview that separation does not mean that Javed Akhtar is a bad person. He said, ‘If they have separated then why be angry? I respect both Javed Saheb and Shabana a lot. It became clear from Honey’s statement that he never kept any kind of bitterness or anger in his heart.

Honey also told that their separation was with the consent of both of them. He said, ‘Our relationship was not working. It was better to separate instead of fighting and blaming each other. Honey also told that the most important thing for him was to maintain respect and he never wanted to lose friendship.

Honey opened up about his relationship with Shabana and said that it took time to grow stronger. He said, ‘It took several years. Because of the children, we kept moving here and there again and again. Efforts were made from both sides’ Now both are good friends, attend each other’s birthdays and sometimes even travel together.

Shabana’s reaction
Last year, in a Filmfare interview, Shabana admitted that in the pursuit of her happiness, she had ignored Honey Irani’s rights. She said that she was a feminist model and did something which did not seem right. Shabana told that she did not reveal the circumstances publicly so that no one else gets hurt.
