Well-known Bollywood actress Dia Mirza is currently facing tremendous trolling on social media. The reason for this is not any of his films or statements, but an incident related to his 5 year old son Avyan Azad Rekhi. Diya recently told that once her son had given knowledge to a delivery boy about the use of plastic.

What is the whole matter?
Actually, Dia Mirza recently appeared on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, where the actress narrated an incident while talking about climate change and her strong opposition to the use of plastic bags. He told that the person who had come to deliver the coconut had come with a plastic bag and plastic straw, seeing which his son immediately interrupted him. In the podcast, Dia Mirza told that she is strictly against the use of plastic.

Speaking on the podcast, Dia said, ‘The coconut vendor delivering the coconut and coconut water coming in plastic bags with plastic straws makes my blood burn more. How did that delivery boy know who he was delivering? So Avyan opened the door and he placed his hand on his waist and said, ‘Brother, he has brought it in plastic, plastic is not allowed in our house, you take it out of the plastic, put it down and take the plastic and straw.’

People trolled Dia Mirza
After hearing this from Diya, Soha Ali Khan praised the child and said, ‘Think, at such a young age it is not easy to express one’s views with such confidence in front of a big person.’ However, social media users did not like this at all. Many people said that it is a good thing to be aware of the environment, but it is not right to talk to a delivery person like this. People believed that etiquette should also be taught to the child.

One user wrote, ‘If you don’t want plastic, then go to the cart and buy it yourself and carry it in a paper bag and then these same people pretend to be very civilized and ‘real’ on camera… what a joke.’ One wrote, ‘What kind of pride is this, man?’ Another wrote, ‘It is not right to talk like this and show so much authority to the person serving you in 40 degree heat.’

Another wrote, ‘A small child scolds the poor coconut seller for taking back the plastic, who earns his living by going door to door in such heat and adults call it bravery. On the other hand, her mother brings various make-up products to the camera, which are themselves sold in plastic packaging. Talking about work front, Dia Mirza is in discussion these days about the film ‘Ikka’. Actors like Sunny Deol, Akshay Khanna, Tillotama Shome and Sanjeeda Sheikh will also be seen in this courtroom drama. Siddharth P. Malhotra is the director and producer of the film. The film will be released on Netflix on July 10, 2026.
