After the GST cut, now about 375 items from kitchen goods to electronics, medicines, equipment and vehicles will become cheaper from Monday i.e. September 22. The GST Council has decided to reduce GST rates from 22 September (on the first day of Navratri), giving relief to consumers.

Common use items like ghee, cheese, butter, salty, ketchup, jam, dry fruits, coffee and ice cream and expensive products like TV, air conditioner (AC), washing machines will also become cheap. In view of the change in GST, Rogerma’s consumption (FMCG) companies have already announced a cut in prices.

House building also became cheaper

GST rate on medical equipment like most drugs, formulation, glucometer and diagnostic kits has been reduced to 5 percent, which will give the common man cheaper. The GST on cement has been reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent, which will also benefit the builders.

Special instructions to medical shops

The government has already instructed drug stores to change their maximum retail price (MRP) or sell medicines at a low price keeping in mind the benefits of cutting GST. Vehicle buyers will be the biggest benefit from the GST rate cut, because tax rates on small and big cars have been increased to 18 percent and 28 percent respectively. Many car companies have already announced the price cuts.

5 percent tax on what things?

Everyday items like oil, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothbrush, toothpastes can also become cheap, because the tax on these has been reduced from 12/18 percent to 5 percent. The prices of other everyday items like Telkam powder, face powder, shaving cream, offershave lotion can also be reduced, as GST has come down from 18 percent to five percent.

Now 2 slabs in GSAT

There will be two slabs in GST from 22 September. Most goods and services will be taxed at 5 and 18 percent. 40 percent tax will have to be paid on luxury items. At the same time, cess will be levied along with 28 percent tax on tobacco and its related products. Currently, GST has four 5, 12, 18 and 28 percent slabs.

GST Council meeting will be held on 3-4 September
The GST Council will meet on September 3 and 4 under the chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in which a change will be taken to change the slab of 40 percent on 5 percent and luxury items of 5 percent and luxury items for most items and services. Although states like West Bengal have suggested to increase the GST limit by 40 percent, but sources say that there will be a big amendment in the law for this.

How much tax will be paid on cars

The Modi government believes that 18 percent tax should be imposed on small cars up to 4 meters long and 40 percent tax will be levied on big cars, which is less than the current 50 percent (28 percent GST and 22 percent cess).

Cement Industry Growth: As the infrastructure is developing, the demand for cement is also increasing. According to a report by Crisil Intelligence, the demand for cement industry in the financial year 2025-26 is expected to increase by 6.5-7.5 %. Apart from this, due to more monsoon than normal, there was a hindrance in construction works. According to the report, the spending of the state government also decreased in the first half, which slowed down work on many projects. The slow real estate market was affected by urban housing.

Due to this, the demand for cement will increase

The report stated that due to the infrastructure contributing 29-30 percent in the demand for domestic cement, its demand is expected to rise in the current financial year and the contribution of roads will be the highest. After this, railway, irrigation and urban are the place of infrastructure. Consumption of rural housing cement will be more. Its estimated stake is 32-34 percent.

Along with this, the increase in budgetary allocation for government projects like Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana and MNREGA will also promote the consumption of cement. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Applications are being given maximum approval for rural as well. In such a situation, work is expected to be accelerated with many construction unit. According to Crisil, the average rural wage is estimated to increase by about 25 percent in FY 2025.

Urban housing segment expected to boom

In FY 2025, the Urban Housing Segment faced difficulties due to real estate lethargy, but now it is expected to return to track again in the current financial year. For this, it is responsible for low Aadhaar, interest rate cuts and improvement in execution under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-urban. In the Union Budget 2025-26, the allocation for this scheme has been increased by 45 percent.
