When the treatment of patients started, the amount of these DNA pieces in their blood gradually started decreasing. This showed that cancer sales are showing effects on treatment.

Cervical cancer is the second largest and common cancer in women in India. Whatever investigation and follow -up methods about this cancer are expensive. In such a situation, it can be quite easy and cheap option to detect it only with blood tests.

What found in AIIMS investigation

AIIMS doctors used a highly sensitive examination, so that the two most dangerous types of HPV and a small amount of HPV18 DNA of HPV18 could also be caught in blood.

60 such women were selected, who were in the grip of cervical cancer but their treatment was not started. 10 healthy women samples were also taken to compare. The amount of DNA of the virus in the blood of cancer was 9.35 NG/µl, while in healthy women it was only 6.95 NG/µl. Doctors also found that after 3 months of treatment, the blood of women with cancer came down to 7 NG/µl.

How much will be the benefit

If this investigation is successful on more people, then it can be used in the initial identity and early detection of this cancer. So far, 90% of the patients reaching the hospital already live in the second or third stage of the disease. In the last stages, the hope of avoiding it is reduced. Currently, Pap Smear test is done for checking cervical cancer, in which the Cervix is ​​tested from the microscope about the cells that they have not changed. Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid is also used in more poor areas.

In this, 3-5% acetic acid solution is applied on the cervical, which starts showing white color by consisting of cancer cells. To identify cancer correctly and to detect its stage, biopsy has to be done. In such a situation, AIIMS blood test can do amazing.
