According to the hospital report, shortly after the hair straightening treatment, the girl started complaining of continuous vomiting, nausea and severe headache. This danger has been confirmed in a study conducted in 2023 by Professor Linda Shavit and Dr. Alon Benaya, head of the Nephrology Institute. In this research, cases of 26 women aged 14 to 58 years were studied, who did not have any serious disease before, but they suddenly reached the hospital with severe kidney failure.

Researchers found that all these women had undergone glyoxylic acid based hair straightening treatment. It is believed that this chemical can enter the body and have a negative effect on the kidneys.
