This time the 79th Independence Day in Jharkhand was celebrated in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm and patriotism. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar hoisted the tricolor and addressed the public at Morabadi Maidan in the capital Ranchi. He said that “better law and order is the backbone of any state’s progress” and Jharkhand has made great progress in this direction.

Struggle on Naxalism

Governor Gangwar said that the government’s campaign against Naxalism is moving fast. This year’s figures also testify to this. 197 arrest of Naxalites, death in 17 encounter and surrender of 10. He clearly stated that the government’s goal is, “To free Jharkhand from Naxalism, so that every citizen can live in a safe environment.”

Action on illegal drugs

Not only Naxalism, but also the Jharkhand Police has tightened the screws on illegal drug business. The cultivation of illegal opium spread over thousands of acres was destroyed from the root. This step has shocked the network of drugs and will help the youth to protect them from the drug trap.

Big relief to farmers

In his address, the Governor also mentioned the steps taken for the farmers. The government has waived agricultural loans worth Rs 2,300 crore, which has given direct benefit to about 5 lakh farmers. This step will prove to be a big relief for the farmers, especially for those who were buried under the burden of debt.

Investment in infrastructure

To increase the pace of development, 3,800 km long highways are being built in Jharkhand at a cost of Rs 13,000 crore. According to the Governor, this project will give new dimensions to the state of connectivity and economic development.

Echo of ‘Maiya Samman Yojana’

Special attention was also paid to the empowerment of women. Under the ‘Maiya Samman Yojana’, 51 lakh women are being given financial assistance of Rs 2,500 every month. This scheme has also been appreciated from the World Bank. Gangwar said that this step is important in making women self -sufficient and improving their standard of living.

CM Hemant Soren’s message, tribute to Shibu Soren

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren will be cremated today (05 August, 2025). RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also left for Jharkhand on Tuesday morning to attend the funeral. While leaving Patna, he expressed grief about this incident in a conversation with the media.

Tejashwi Yadav said, “Yesterday we got sad information. We are now leaving for Ranchi. We cannot forget the contribution of Shibu Soren who have fought for the poor, especially for the Dalits, especially for the tribal society that he has fought.”

‘Shibu Soren’s absence of great damage to the country’

He said, “We have been an ally of our father. We have a constant alliance in Jharkhand too. I think the country will suffer a lot of damage due to the absence of Shibu Soren. We have a condolences to his family. Today they will be cremated. It will be done in Ramgarh district, so we are going there.”

People paid tribute at his residence in Ranchi before the last rites of former Jharkhand Chief Minister and founder patron of JMM Shibu Soren. Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and founder of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Shibu Soren died on Monday (August 4) in the morning. He breathed his last at Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi. After the death of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shibu Soren, he reached the hospital for the last darshan. He also met Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren became emotional after meeting PM and could not stop tears.

Shibu Soren was struggling with kidney disease

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren was battling kidney disease for a long time. He was on the life support system for the last one month.
