He was asked a question about the leak of water containing radioactive materials at the Fugen nuclear reactor in Tsuruga city of Fukui Prefecture, Japan on December 23. Decommissioning work is going on at this plant. According to China’s Foreign Ministry, Japan’s Nuclear Regulatory Authority has said that the concentration of radioactive materials in the leaked water is believed to be very high, and many people may have been exposed to radiation.

“Despite various problems such as aging nuclear facilities, disorganized management and inadequate regulation, Japan still decided to restart the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant,” Lin said.
