US President Donald Trump on Friday claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping assured him that China would not attack Taiwan as long as he is President. Trump gave this statement in an interview to Fox News. This claim has come at a time when tension between China and Taiwan remains constant.

Trump’s statement
Trump said in the interview, “President Xi told me that as long as you are President, I will never do this. I told him, ‘I appreciate it.’ But he also said that he is very patient and China is also very patient. ” Trump further said that he is confident that there is no possibility of attacking Taiwan during his tenure.

Trump-shee conversation
The first confirmation of Trump’s second presidential tenure between Trump and Xi Jinping took place in June. Even in April, Trump had said that Xi had called him, but he did not clarify when the conversation took place.

China’s stance and Taiwan’s objection
China considers Taiwan as its part and has repeatedly said that it will “re-integrate” this island under any circumstances, for this, force will also be used if needed. On the other hand, Taiwan strongly opposes China’s claim of sovereignty and considers itself an independent democratic rule.

America and Taiwan relations
Although the US is Taiwan’s largest international supporter and main supplier of weapons, there is no formal diplomatic relations between the two countries. China has always objected to this role of America.

Chinese Embassy response
The Chinese Embassy in Washington said on Friday that Taiwan’s issue is the most important and sensitive subject of China-America relations. Embassy spokesman Liu Pengu said in a statement, “The US government should follow one-China policy and three joint releases of China-America. Careful matters related to Taiwan should be handled carefully and maintaining peace and stability in China-America relations and Taiwan Strait.”

The Chinese Embassy in the capital Dhaka has issued a statement on Thursday (July 24, 2025) regarding the Bangladesh Air Force Jet Crash case. The Chinese Embassy said in its statement that the Chinese government is sending a medical team on Friday (July 25, 2025) to treat patients burning of Jet Crash of Bangladeshi Air Force.

The embassy said, “At the request of the interim government of Bangladesh, China’s Emergency Medical Team will reach Dhaka in the evening of Thursday (July 24, 2025) and then start treating the injured. This emergency medical team includes five burn specslist doctors and many nurses.” China’s emergency medical team will also visit the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Medical team of India and Singapore also reached Dhaka

At the same time, a medical team from India has reached Dhaka to treat the victims burning in Jet Crash on Wednesday (July 23, 2025). Earlier, Singapore also sent a medical team. Who has started treating the injured patients after reaching Dhaka.

13 people in ICU are fighting patient life

According to the Bangladesh Ministry, on Monday (July 21, 2025), 29 people have died in the Jet Crash of Bangladeshi Air Force held at Milestone School and College in North Diabari on Monday (July 23, 2025). Three days after this terrible jet crash i.e. on Wednesday (July 23), 13 seriously injured people are fighting the battle of their lives in ICU. Most of these 13 people include children.

According to the Health Ministry, till 7:15 pm on Wednesday evening, there were a total of 57 people admitted to five hospitals in the capital Dhaka, including most of the children. The ministry said that 45 of the total patients were admitted in the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, eight of which are critical and special treatment is being done in the ICU. Apart from this, nine patients were admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), four of whom were in ICU. Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, Shaheed Mansoor Ali Medical College Hospital and Human Aid Research Lab and Hospital are admitted to one patient each. However, patients admitted to Human Aid Hospital are also in ICU.

China said that the theme of Dalai Lama’s successor and rebirth is ‘completely internal matter’, in which there is no place for any external intervention. Chinese embassy spokesperson U Jing wrote on the social media platform x, ‘The issue related to Shijang is like a thorn in India-China relations and it is becoming a burden for India. Playing ‘Shijang Card’ will be a suicide step for India.

China objected to the comments of Indian experts
U Jing said that in recent times, Indian strategic affairs experts, former officials and academics have given ‘unfair statements’ about the successor of the Dalai Lama, which according to China does not match the public policy of the Government of India. He also claimed that the Tibetan people in Tibet have maintained their traditional culture, dress, catering and architecture with independence. He also shared some pictures.

What was said by India?
The Government of India has repeated a neutral attitude on this matter. Foreign Ministry (Mea) spokesman Randhir Jaiswal told the media on 4 July- ‘The Government of India does not take any official stance in matters related to religious beliefs and traditions nor comments. India has always supported religious freedom for all.

China provoked from Union Minister’s statement
One reason for China’s response is the statement of Union Minister Kiran Rijiju in which he attended the Dalai Lama’s birthday celebrations and said that as a Buddhist follower, he believes that the Dalai Lama and his office are entitled to decide on the successor.
China raised strong objections to this and called it an ‘anti -China separatist attitude’.

Dalai Lama’s statement and Chinese Anger
During his 90th birthday ceremony this month, the Dalai Lama clearly stated that his successor will be selected completely through the religious process and China should not have any role in it. This statement was further enraged by China. China wants the successor to get approval from its government.

The Dalai Lama has been living in exile in India since 1959, when he revolted against China’s rule in Tibet. Indian strategic experts believe that the presence of the Dalai Lama is a diplomatic benefit for India.
