China’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday (July 9) dismissed the allegations made by Germany. Germany accused China that a Chinese warship in the Red Sea attacked a German monitoring aircraft using a laser.

Germany’s monitoring aircraft was part of the European Union (EU) Mission Aspides, which aims to better protect civil ships from the attacks of Yemen based Huti rebels.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Germany, earlier this month, the aircraft was a victim of laser without any reason or prior notice and this had been done many times before the Chinese warship in that sea area. Germany’s Foreign Office said on Tuesday (July 8) that the Chinese Ambassador in Germany has summoned the incident.
