How did Chunky get his first film?

Chunky Pandey said that he had to struggle for roles because he was not getting many offers. Chunky said, ‘I wanted to become an actor. But there was no actor in my family. Yes, my uncle used to play character roles. I had to struggle for 4-5 years for my first film. But if I was able to get into the film line, it is only because of Govinda. Then Govinda said- I had left the film so she got it.

Met Pahlaj Nihalani in the bathroom

Chunky further said, ‘I met Pahlaj Nihalani in the bathroom. My career started from there. Pahlaj had done the film Ilzaam with Govinda, which was a superhit. But when I met him in the bathroom I didn’t know him. There was no social media at that time. People didn’t know who looked like who. So both of us were in the bathroom. My pulse was not opening. I needed someone’s help to open it. He helped me. So I asked him what he does. So he said that he is a producer and his name is Pahlaj Nihalani. So I was shocked. So I introduced myself that my name is Chunky Pandey. So he said what a strange name it is. So I said yes, but I want to do films. So he again called me to his house the next day. Met me and then I got the role.

On the other hand, Chunky Pandey was also born on this day i.e. 26 September 1962 in Mumbai. His real name is Suyash Pandey, but in the film industry he became famous as Chunky. He also started his career with the film ‘Aag Hi Aag’ in 1987, which was one of the hit films of that time. In the initial stages, Chunky worked in films like ‘Tezaab’, ‘Aankhen’, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, ‘Papa Ki Duniya’ and gained a lot of popularity. He was mostly seen in double hero or supporting roles.

In the middle of the 90s, the career of both actors declined slightly. At that time new romantic heroes like Shah Rukh, Salman, and Akshay, Sunil and Ajay were engaged in Bollywood. Chunky stopped getting a serious or lead role and Archana also started getting limited roles in films.
