James Lawler, a former officer of America’s intelligence agency CIA, recalled the experiences of the early days of his spying career and told how he got the nickname Mad Dog, who was given the name of Pakistan’s A.I. Q. Who is credited with dismantling Khan’s nuclear smuggling network and why did he kill A.I. Q. Khan was called the merchant of death.

James Lawler, former head of the CIA’s Counter-Proliferation Division, in an interview to news agency ANI, described in detail his role in uncovering and dismantling the global nuclear network linked to the Pakistani scientist.

We never imagined that AQ Khan would spread nuclear technology to the world – Lawler

James Lawler said how these covert operations ultimately led to A.I. Why. Took Khan’s proliferation network under its ambit. America had been monitoring Khan’s role in building Pakistan’s nuclear capability for years, but after a long time analysts realized that Khan had expanded his role to become a broadcaster at the international level. He said, ‘We were very slow. We thought that supplying to Pakistan was a serious matter, but we never imagined that in future it would start spreading nuclear technology to the outside world as well. He said that I Why. Khan was named Merchant of Death.

Lawler said the CIA had confirmed that Khan’s network was providing sensitive technology to several foreign programs. Responding to a question on Pakistani involvement, he said, ‘A. Why. Khan had some Pakistani generals and leaders on his payroll, but made it clear that the collusion of some people did not mean that this was the official policy of the state.

James gave information about his early career

During the interview, James Lawler also gave information about his counter-proliferation career, which started in a beautiful alpine country. A country which was known for advanced technology and which was targeted by countries trying to make nuclear weapons. After returning to CIA headquarters in 1994, he was appointed head of the European Division’s Counter-Proliferation Office and later tasked with infiltrating and disrupting Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

Also read: ‘Who knows, Sindh may come to India again…’, Defense Minister Rajnath’s statement gave Pakistan sleepless nights.

Former officer of American intelligence agency CIA, John Kiriaku has made a big revelation about Pakistan. He told that former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had pressured him to apologize by sending a letter. This letter was sent after Kiriaku’s statement in which he had assessed the strength of India and Pakistan and claimed India’s victory.

Kiriaku revealed in a podcast with Julian Dore that he was pressurized to apologize to the Pakistanis and was even given death threats. He said that in response to this letter from PTI, he told the party workers that he made toilet paper out of that letter and wiped it and threw it away.

Giving his opinion on the four-day military conflict between India and Pakistan between May 7-10, Kiriaku advised the Pakistanis that they should not provoke India because if there is a war, they will lose.

While talking to news agency ANI last month, he had said, ‘If a real war breaks out between India and Pakistan, it would be very wrong because Pakistan will lose this war. The truth is that they will lose and I am not talking about nuclear war here. I am only talking about war and hence continuously provoking Indians will be of no use.

In the podcast, Kiriaku said that after his statement, PTI Chairman Imran Khan sent him a letter, in which his statement was condemned and he was demanded to immediately apologize to Imran Khan, PTI workers and the people of Pakistan. He said, ‘I said that if there is a war, Pakistan will lose because India’s population is five times more than Pakistan. I can’t count how many death threats I was given. My lawyer told me to be careful, take care of my surroundings. At present, former Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhary Pervez Ilahi is holding the command of PTI. After Imran Khan went to jail, he is leading the party from March 23, 2023.

Kiriaku said that instead of retracting his statement, he did just the opposite. He ignored his lawyer’s advice to throw away the letter and remain silent and sent a befitting reply to the letter to PTI. He said, ‘My lawyer was saying, throw it away, but I did not throw it away. I sent him an email and wrote in it, regarding your demand for apology, I say that I made toilet paper of your letter and wiped it and threw it away.’ Kiriaku wrote that after this he never received any threat.

The statement of former CIA officer Richard Barlow regarding America-Pakistan relations and nuclear weapons has created a sensation. He said that all the Presidents of America till 1989 kept proving that Pakistan did not have nuclear weapons, while they knew very well that Islamabad could deploy nuclear weapons on F-16 aircraft. Despite this, America provided them nuclear weapons.

In an interview given to news agency ANI, Richard Barlow said that I can tell you that most of us in the CIA were not comfortable with this. Even though we are not elected officials, we can provide senior policy-makers with the best available intelligence that is accurate. What they do after this is not our business, because we do not have control over it. They are the elected representatives of the American people.

Richard Barlow was a CIA officer in 1980
Let us tell you that Richard Barlow was part of the CIA as an officer during Pakistan’s covert nuclear activities in the late 1980s. He further told that American investigative journalist and political writer Seymour Hersh had given interviews on these same matters, which were published in The New Yorker. During the Brassstacks crisis in 1987, Pakistan’s father of the bomb, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, had said in an interview that Pakistan had nuclear bombs. The Brassstacks crisis was a nuclear crisis that arose between Pakistan and India following Indian Army exercises from November 1986 to January 1987. Pakistan believed that this military exercise was a direct threat to its division into two parts.

Richard Barlow’s shocking revelation
He said you can read about it in Seymour Hersh’s article in The New Yorker in 1993. He had seen the intelligence community take nuclear weapons to airports and put them into F-16 planes. According to the US President, the nuclear weapons which Pakistan did not possess were actually kept there.
He further said that we knew everything about the design of Pakistani nuclear weapons and as you can imagine. We also knew everything about the F-16. We also knew that the F-16s were capable of delivering the Pakistani nuclear weapons available at that time without any doubt. Nevertheless the government went ahead with the sale.

Former American intelligence agency CIA officer John Kiriakou has revealed that India and Pakistan were very close to war in 2002. This situation was created during the Parliament attack in December 2001 and Operation Parakram that started thereafter. He told that the American intelligence system felt such a serious threat at that time that the families of American officers posted in Islamabad were immediately evacuated.

In an exclusive interview to ANI, Kiriakou said, “We had assumed that India and Pakistan were going to war. We had evacuated our families from Islamabad. We were completely sure that India and Pakistan were going to war.” He said that the situation was so tense that the US Deputy Secretary of State at that time had to constantly go back and forth between Delhi and Islamabad, so that an agreement could be reached between the two countries and war could be averted. According to Kiriakou, after 9/11, America was completely focused on Al-Qaeda and Afghanistan. For this reason India’s security interests were not taken that seriously.

Kiriakou made this big revelation

He said, “We were so busy with Al-Qaeda that we did not even think twice about India.” Kiriakou further said that during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, American intelligence agencies had correctly guessed that Pakistan-backed Kashmiri terrorist organizations were behind it. He said, “I don’t think it was the work of Al-Qaeda. It was completely a conspiracy by Pakistani-backed Kashmiri groups and that proved to be true.” He also said that the biggest problem was that Pakistan continued to spread terrorism in India, but the international community never took strict steps.

He further said, “Pakistan was allowing terrorism into India and no one was doing anything,” Kiriakou said, adding that India’s policy within the CIA was called ‘strategic patience’. He said, “India showed restraint after the Parliament attack and Mumbai attacks, but now the time has come when India will have to keep in mind that its restraint should not be considered a weakness.”

What did Kiriak say on the war between India and Pakistan?

Kiriakou warned that if there was a conventional war between India and Pakistan, then Pakistan would definitely have to face defeat. He said, “If there is a real war, Pakistan will lose. I am not talking about a nuclear war, only in a conventional war its defeat is certain.” He said that India’s military power and strategic capabilities are far ahead of Pakistan.

He further said, “Pakistan will not get any benefit by provoking India. They will lose. This much is clear.” Referring to India’s recent military actions, Kiriakou said that India has made it clear through steps like 2016 surgical strike, 2019 Balakot airstrike and 2025 Operation Vermillion that it is not a country afraid of cross-border terrorism or nuclear threat. He said, “India has shown time and again that it will not tolerate terror and blackmail.”

White House refused to take action

When he was asked why America did not take action against Pakistan despite so much evidence, he said, “This was the decision of the White House. At that time, relations with Pakistan were more important for America than India. We needed Pakistan, they did not need us.”

Who is John Kiriakou?

John Kiriakou served in the CIA for 15 years. He was first an analyst and later became the head of Counter Terrorism Operations in Pakistan after 9/11. They tracked al-Qaeda operatives in Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad and Quetta. In 2007, he appeared on the American media and revealed that the CIA was using torture during interrogations and that information was being taken from prisoners through techniques such as waterboarding. After this he was jailed for 23 months, but even today he says, “I have no regrets. Whatever I did, I did it for the truth.”

Former America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer John Kiriaku has made a big revelation about former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf. He claimed that Pervez Musharraf had handed over the keys of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons to America. He said that at that time the US had given millions of dollars to Pakistan.

‘PAK’s nuclear weapons were under America’s control’

In an interview given to news agency ANI, the former CIA officer said, “When I was posted in Pakistan in 2002, I was informally told that the Pentagon controls Pakistani nuclear weapons. Pervez Musharraf handed over its control to America because he too was afraid that nuclear weapons might fall into the hands of terrorists.”

Former CIA officer’s disclosure regarding 26/11 attack

Former CIA officer John Kiriakou revealed that the US expected India to retaliate after the 2001 Parliament attack and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, but it did not happen. He said, “In the CIA, we called this policy of India strategic patience. The Indian government had every right to respond by attacking Pakistan, but they did not do so. People in the White House were saying that India was indeed demonstrating a very mature foreign policy.”

He claimed, “We expected India to retaliate, but they did not do so and that is why the world was saved from a nuclear attack. India has now reached a point where it cannot afford to consider strategic patience as weakness, so it had to respond.”

‘US likes to work with dictators’

He said, “Musharraf allowed America to work freely. Our relations with the Pakistani government were very good. At that time there was General Pervez Musharraf and to be honest, America likes to work with dictators because then you do not have to worry about public opinion and media and that is why we bought Musharraf.”

John Kiriaku said, “We gave millions and millions of dollars of aid to Pakistan. We met Musharraf several times a week. Musharraf also had his own people with whom he had to deal. Musharraf maintained the support of the army while pretending to cooperate with America on counter terrorism, but continued his activities against India.”

PAK Army did not care about Al-Qaeda

He said, “Pervez Musharraf had to keep the army happy and the army did not care about Al-Qaeda. He cared about India, so to keep the army and some extremists happy, he had to allow the dual policy of spreading terror against India to continue under the pretense of cooperation with America on counter terrorism.”

The day of 2 May 2011 has been recorded in the history of the world. On this day, the US killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in a 40-minute military action in Abbotabad, Pakistan. The death of the mastermind bin Laden of the 9/11 attacks shocked the whole world and raised serious questions on the international reputation of Pakistan.

How Laden has been hiding in Pakistan for years?

After this incident, the biggest question arose that how Bin Laden could remain hidden near the Pakistani military posts for years. Also, after his death his family’s situation also remained a mystery. Recently published book The Zardari Presidency: Now it must be Told author Farhatullah Babur, who has been a spokesperson of former President Asif Ali Zardari, gave new lights on these questions.

What happened after the murder of bin Laden?

According to Babur, soon after the assassination of Bin Laden, Pakistan officials detained his wives, but the most shocking thing is that in a few days a team of CIA got permission to interrogate women by reaching the abotabad cannons directly to the abotabad cannons, which raised serious concern over Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Pakistan’s national insult

Babur writes that this incident has faced national insult to Pakistan. American agents got widespread freedom on Pakistan’s land, while the country’s political and military leadership appeared to bend before the pressure. Babur says that this was a moment of failure and embarrassment for Pakistan.

It is further stated in the book that after this action, senior American officials, including the then Foreign Minister Hillary Clinton and Senator John Carrie, reached Pakistan. At that time Islamabad American wanted a guarantee of avoiding unilateral attacks, but the US did not give any clear assurance.

Big disclosure about CIA

The most important disclosure is that CIA had gathered a deep intelligence information of Bin Laden’s Abotabad hideout long before this action. The agency even knew the identity of the contractor who built the campus for the terrorist.

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval’s life has always been like a detective novel. His mission started not with Pakistan or China, but from the Himalayan state Sikkim. Sikkim was in crime in the early 1970s. Queen Hope Cook was seen as a detective queen in Delhi, who was allegedly related to the CIA. During that time India’s relations with America were tense.

India was afraid of losing its influence in Sikkim at that time, which served as a buffer against China. Then Ajit Doval was assigned to Ajit Doval to keep Sikkim in India in the role of intelligence officer. Sikkim was ruled by the Chogyal dynasty since 1642. After India’s independence in 1947, it became a protected state, which meant that Delhi handled defense and foreign affairs, while Chogyal looked at internal affairs. After 1965, this system started changing, when Palden Thondup Namgyal became Chogyal after the death of his father.

Hope Cook married Thondup leaving US citizenship
Thondup met Hope Cook two years ago, who gave up his American citizenship to marry him. By mid -1960, she became the queen and started interfering in Sikkim matters. In an interview to foreign journalists, Hope Cook portrayed Sikkim as a nation opposing Indian pressure and started pressurizing her husband to separate Sikkim from India.

Author Devdutt D has mentioned in his book
Writer Devdutt D. has told in his book Ajit Doval: On a Mission how the intelligence officials of Delhi suspected to have the influence of Washington behind all this. His presence became even more controversial during the 1971 Bangladesh War, when Washington openly supported Pakistan. The growing American influence in the Himalayas was nothing short of a nightmare, especially when China was already hovering to the north.

Displeasure towards American queen started increasing
During this, Ajit Doval established himself among the local people and started talking to the leaders. Doval’s reports revealed that the people of Sikkim, especially the majority of the Nepali population, were increasing resentment towards the American queen. He considered the palace anti-India. Protests started in Sikkim by 1973. The protesters took out a march against the monarchy and demanded democracy.

How Sikkim became the 22nd state of India
Due to increasing pressure, Rani Hope Cook then left Sikkim and moved to New York and never returned again. After 2 years, in 1975, the Sikkim Legislative Assembly voted heavy in favor of abolishing the monarchy and merger in India. More than 97 percent of the people supported the merger in the referendum. Delhi took fast steps and Sikkim became the 22nd state of India.

US intelligence director Tulsi Gaburd has made a big disclosure about Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 presidential election. He has made public some confidential documents, claiming that the entire story was coined by the Obama administration for political purpose to weaken the victory of Donald Trump.

Gabard said that the intelligence reports of the time clearly stated that Russia’s cyber activities were neither sufficient nor influential to influence the election results. Despite this, the then President Barack Obama, former CIA director John Brainon, former FBI chief James Komi and other officials deliberately spread fake information and conspired against Trump.

What was in documents?

Documents made public by Gabard revealed that the intelligence report prepared in December 2016 said that foreign forces made cyber attacks on the US election system, but they were not so effective that the election results could change. Despite this, a new report released in January 2017 claimed that Russia tried to benefit Trump.

Gabard has handed over all these documents to the Department of Justice so that Trump, his family and American public can get justice. He has demanded that there should be a criminal investigation against all the responsible officials of the Obama administration.

Trump’s spicy retaliation

Donald Trump has reacted sharply to this entire incident. He said, “John Brainon and James Komi are very dishonest and corrupt people. They may have to pay the price. These are the people who hurt America’s democracy.” Trump also said that the conspiracy against him was a planned lie and now it has been proved that a deep conspiracy was hatched to remove him from power.

Gaburd has described it not just a political issue but an attack against the US democratic structure. He said, “This is a conspiracy against the Constitution and the soul of the country. Strict action should be taken against all those involved in this case, only then the public will return to democracy.”
