Students will get the option to choose the language

Under the new system, students will have the option to choose a third language. Students will be able to choose Sanskrit or any prescribed regional language. However, this language should be different from their first language Hindi and second language English.

Transfer families will benefit

A large number of students study in Kendriya Vidyalayas whose parents are frequently transferred to different cities. It will be easier for such students to continue their studies if they get the same language system everywhere.

Preference will be taken from parents and students

Schools have been instructed to take information from students and parents about their preference for third language. On this basis, sections will be prepared in schools and further arrangements will be decided.

Schools must submit data on time

To implement the new language system, all Kendriya Vidyalayas will have to upload the relevant information on the portal within the stipulated time. On the basis of this, the need of staff and teachers will also be re-assessed.

There may be a situation of shortage of teachers and resources teaching regional languages ​​in some schools. Keeping this in mind, a plan has been made to take the help of contract teachers if needed and implement the system in a phased manner.

Sections will be made according to the number of students

Schools have been given the freedom to create sections according to the number of students. At some places joint sections can be made and at some places separate sections will be made. But in every case it will be necessary to have at least one section for Sanskrit in classes 6 and 9.
