In this trial, 500 such patients were included, whose cancer had spread in the body. Researchers found that patients taking this pill lived for an average of 13.2 months, while the average life span of patients taking chemotherapy was between 6.6 to 6.7 months.

This study was presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology held in Chicago. Research from the world famous Dana-Farber Cancer Institute based in Boston led this trial. After the results came out, cancer experts called it one of the most important achievements of the last several decades.

He says this kind of survival advantage has never been seen before. Dr. Julie Gralow, Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President of ASCO, also called this drug a game changer. How is this medicine made?

The drug Daraxonrasib targets a protein called KRAS, which is believed to be responsible for the growth of cancer cells in most pancreatic cancer cases. According to researchers, changes in KRAS gene are found in more than 90 percent of patients. This medicine works to slow down the growth of cancer by stopping the same process.
