According to the rules under consideration of ICC, another player can get a chance in playing 11 instead of Pant.

On the first day of the fourth Test, 27 -year -old Rishabh Pant hit the right leg, he took off the shoe and blood was coming out from there. Swelling also came in a while, after which he had to go out of the field. Dhruv Juril took the wicket -keeping, on the second day Cricbuj confirmed that Pant had a fracture in his foot finger.

BCCI issued an official update on this saying, “After the right leg injury on the first day of the Manchester Test, Rishabh Pant will not be able to do wicketkeeping in the rest of the match. Dhruv Jurlel will play the role of wicketkeeper. Despite his injury, Rishabh Pant has joined the team on the second day and will be available for batting according to the team’s needs.”

The rule under consideration of ICC, can anyone bat in place of Rishabh Pant?

If the ICC implemented a rule under consideration in Test cricket, then things can be very different for Team India. Last month, the World Cricket Body changed the rules of the game. An important announcement was made in which the ICC asked the other board about the option of injury in the first class for the next 6 months from October 2025. This statement said that the player gets a serious injury on the playground at any time after the match starts, then the remaining match may include another player in playing 11. But the playing role of the replacement player should be the same as the player who is out. That is, instead of the batsman, only the bowler will be able to join the playing 11 instead of the batsman and the bowler.

Currently, only conversion replacement is allowed. If a player has a head injury, then another player may be included in the playing 11. For example, if Pant’s head was hurt, Dhruv could join Jurlel playing 11 and bat his place, now he can only keep wickets by becoming a substitute player.

ICC New Cricket Rule: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made some changes in the rules of cricket. The ICC Men Cricket Committee had recommended to change these rules. It has got the green signal from the ICC. These changes will be applicable from June 17.

In the recent T20 series between India and England, there was a lot of controversy on the Constitute Substitute Rules. This rule has been amended. Also, the use of two balls in ODIs has also been changed now.

Now before the match starts, both teams will have to hand over the list of five players each for the conversion substitute. Also, the replacement should be exactly like a play player. If a fast bowler is out due to conversion, then only a fast bowler will come in his place.

There was a dispute in India-England T20 series

During the T20 series between India and England, Harshit Rana was fielded as Shivam Dubey’s Concisition Substitute. After the defeat in this match, the England captain questioned this rule. Shivam is an all-rounder, he bowls at a moderate pace along with batting, but Harshit Rana was replaced, who is primarily a bowler. Harshit Rana took 3 wickets and won the match to India. Then it was said that India benefited from this rule.

Changes in two balls of ODIs also

Currently, a new ball is used from both sides in ODI International. But now this rule has been changed. Now two balls will be used from the first over to 34 overs. Then from the remaining overs, the team will have to choose one of the two balls, and the rest of the over will be thrown from that selected ball again. If the match is 25 or less due to rain, then the match will be with one ball.
