Politics has intensified over the decision of Railways to increase passenger fares. Opposition parties have termed it as a step that will increase inflation and a burden on the common man. Whereas BJP has called it a necessary and very minor increase. After the reactions of the spokespersons of SP, Congress and BJP came to light, the debate on the decision of the Railways has started.

Regarding the increase in rail fare, Congress State President Ajay Rai, while talking to ABP News, said that good days have come. Under his rule, the prices of any essential commodity or related system have only increased, not decreased. This was the promise of good days. The poor man is troubled today and this government is giving relief to the people in this way.

Forget air travel, now even rail travel is difficult – Fakhrul Hasan Chand

SP spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand said that BJP had promised that anyone wearing slippers will also travel by plane. But now the situation is such that leave alone air travel, even train travel is becoming expensive. He said that due to the government’s policies, air fares have already skyrocketed and now additional burden is being put on the poor and middle class by increasing railway fares. The person traveling by train is a common citizen, but he is being hit by increasing taxes and fares.

The government took full care of the poor and middle class – Rakesh Kumar Tripathi

Whereas BJP spokesperson Rakesh Kumar Tripathi rejected the allegations of the opposition and said that railway fares had not increased for a long time. Whereas the facilities provided to the passengers have continuously increased. He said that this increase is very minor and the government has taken full care that it does not have much impact on the poor and middle class.

Fare increased by 2 paisa per kilometer in AC class

According to the information released by the Railways, if you travel in ordinary class for a distance of more than 215 kilometers, now you will have to pay 1 paise more per kilometer. Whereas in non-AC category of mail and express trains, there has been an increase of 2 paise per kilometer. The fare in AC class has also been increased by 2 paise per kilometer. However, it is a matter of relief that there will be no increase in fare for journeys up to 215 kilometers in ordinary class. For example, on non-AC journey of 500 km, passengers will now have to pay approximately Rs 10 extra.

Expenditure on pension reached Rs 60,000 crore

Railways says that this new fare structure is expected to generate additional income of about Rs 600 crore in the current financial year. Railways has cited rising costs as the reason behind increasing the fare. According to the department, the human resource cost of Railways has increased to Rs 1,15,000 crore. Whereas the expenditure on pension has reached Rs 60,000 crore. The total operating cost of Railways in the year 2024-25 is estimated to be Rs 2,63,000 crore. For this reason, change in the fare structure has been said to be necessary.

A big controversy has come to light from Jaipur, Rajasthan regarding the voter list update process. A video from Raghunathpuri ward number 33 of Jhotwara area is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which some youths from the Muslim community are seen arguing with a female BLO (Booth Level Officer).

The youth allege that the BLO did not visit their homes to give the forms and an attempt is being made to deliberately remove the names of their families from the voter list.

Asif Maqbool of Raghunathpuri Jhotwara Ward No. 33 in Jaipur asked BLO Mithilesh Savita:

“Why were my and my family’s names removed from the voter list?”

BLO said, “I will strike off the name of anyone who does not come to me to collect the form.”

By the way, BLO has to go door to door and give forms.

To take away the right to vote… pic.twitter.com/F1mAXYcZoH

What is the whole matter?

In the video, two youths Asif and Maqbool were seen asking questions to female BLO Savita Mithilesh. They allege that the BLO has not come to their house to give the form. Besides, marking has been done against his and many other families’ names in the voter list. This could be a conspiracy to erase the name of the entire community on some signal.

The youth say that the BLO sits at a certain place in the area and expects people to come themselves to collect the forms. They allege that the names of those who do not turn up to collect the forms are being struck off. It came to light that in the voter list maintained by the BLO, many names of a particular community were marked.

Female BLO remained silent after questions

When the youth started asking questions, the female BLO remained silent at first. Later she only said that she had gone to give the form, but when the youth repeatedly told her that she had not come home, she could not give any clear answer. Surrounded by questions, the BLO said that she would not answer any questions and also said that she was a government employee. The youth recorded the entire incident on their mobile cameras and posted it on social media.

Congress also shared the video

The matter became more political when this video was shared on the official Congress wrote, “People’s names are being targeted and deleted, a game is being played in the name of SIR. Taking away the right to vote is an attack on the Constitution and it will not be tolerated.”

The matter escalated after the dispute

After this video surfaced, a debate has erupted in the area. It is alleged that a particular community is being targeted in the name of SIR (Special Summary Revision) in the voter list. The matter has now moved from social media to political allegations and counter-allegations. At present, this video is raising questions on the election preparations and transparency of the election process in Jaipur and action is also being demanded from the local administration.

India’s politics has become hot after US President Donald Trump’s decision to increase H1-B visa fees. The opposition is constantly questioning the Modi government. Asaduddin Owaisi, head of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), surrounded the central government after the US step to fix a fee of $ 1 lakh. He raised the question that “What did the country benefit from big programs like Howdi Modi and Namaste Trump?”

  What did Owaisi say?

On the social media platform X, Owaisi wrote that Trump almost eliminated the H1-B visa system, while this visa benefited most of the Indians, especially the youth of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Owaisi accuses Modi government

Owaisi alleged that the Modi government ignored long -term benefits for showing in domestic politics. He said that his complaint is not with Trump, but to the government. “What did we achieve with events like Howdi Modi and Namaste Trump?”

Hyderabad MP Owaisi lashed out at Prime Minister Modi and said that Trump’s decisions prove that America does not see India as a strategic partner. He also said that only the best wishes of birthday cannot be a proof of the success of foreign policy. Owaisi alleged that a change in H1-B visa was done especially to target Indians.

He also recently mentioned the tariff imposed on Indian goods and the security treaty of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia and said that all this was not possible without the approval of the Trump administration. According to Owaisi, these incidents seem weak in India’s global situation.

Owaisi said this big thing

Owaisi called the Modi government’s term ‘lost decade’ in India’s foreign policy. Other opposition parties also did not lag behind. The Congress described the Prime Minister as a weak leader and Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party commented that the Modi government is looking completely helpless in this matter.

The Congress has given a serious reaction to the statement of ‘election boycott’ given by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav regarding Bihar assembly elections. The party said on Saturday that this warning of Tejashwi Yadav indicates that fair election conditions are not being created in the state.

The issue of boycott is still ‘premature’

Senior Congress leader and spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the issue of election boycott is still ‘pre -pre -‘, but if such a collective decision is taken, it will raise a big question on the credibility of the Election Commission.

He said, “This is an important question, which is still premature. Don’t see the statement, look at the spirit behind it … The feeling behind it is pain, pain, anger. That is that we are completely ready, but why the ground is unilateral, uneven, this is its message.”

Tejashwi accused about SIR

Significantly, Tejashwi Yadav recently warned that if the process of special intensive revision of the voter list is not withdrawn, the RJD can boycott the upcoming assembly elections if the process of special intensive revision of the list is not withdrawn. They allege that this process can become a means of removing the names of many new voters from the voter list or not to include them, which can cause damage to the opposition parties.

There is a possibility of holding assembly elections in Bihar between October-November this year. In such a situation, the increasing dispute over the voter list can increase the conflict between the opposition and the Election Commission.

The Congress made it clear that it is fully ready to contest the election, but it cannot compromise on the fairness of the democratic process. Singhvi indicated that if the opposition parties have to take a big decision together, then the Congress will also be ready for it.

Now it will be interesting to see whether the opposition parties unite and pressurize the Election Commission on this issue, and how the commission reacts to this warning.

The statement of former MLA Gopal Kanda from Sirsa in Haryana has warmed the politics of the state. The Congress shared Kanda’s statement on the social media platform X, in which he is saying, “Abhay Singh Chautala made a mistake or Gopal Kanda made a mistake, you know more. Even a seat in Rania won with the kindness of Khattar Saheb … Jitwao, a seat in Rania, I do not take this Congress anywhere. ”

Gopal Kanda said, “If this Govind and Gopal Rania are not seen, then perhaps Abhay Singh Chautala does not get a single seat, the son.” You know the whole thing. ”

Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda lashed out at Kanda’s statement. He wrote on X, Gopal Kanda revealed that with the help of Khatter Saheb’s kindness and BJP+Kanda, Abhay became MLA from Rania, son of Chautala.

Gopal Kanda inaugurated that with the help of Khatter Saheb’s kindness and BJP+Kanda, Abhay Chautala’s son became MLA from Ranian.
With this statement, the curtain has been removed from the disgusting political game being played by the BJP and INLD behind the scenes in the state.
I am already saying this continuously… pic.twitter.com/xemste9gix

He said, “With this statement, the curtain has been removed from the disgusting political game being played by BJP and INLD behind the scenes in the state. I am already continuously saying that INLD is the BJP’s firm puppet. ”

Only Hooda Saheb and Congress- Deepender Singh Hooda on the target of both

Hooda said, “In the assembly elections, INLD had a 3 -seat secret agreement with BJP – BJP was with INLD candidates on Elenabad, Dabwali and Rania and INLD of BJP on all the seats. There was only Hooda Saheb and Congress on the target of both.

Please tell that Abhay Singh Chautala’s party Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won two seats in the Haryana Assembly elections. Aditya Devi Lal won from Dabwali. At the same time, Arjun Chautala won from Rania. Aditya defeated Congress candidate Amit Sihag by 610 votes. In Rania, Arjun Chautala defeated Congress candidate Sarva Mitra by 4191 votes. BJP was fourth in both seats.

Out of 90 seats in Haryana, BJP got 48 seats, Congress 37 and Independents got three seats. BJP got 39.94 percent votes and Congress got 39.09 percent votes.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has refused to react to the sudden resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Talking to reporters in Howrah, Mamta said, “I don’t have to comment about this. Let’s see what happens.” He further said, “They are a healthy person. I think his health is absolutely fine. Mamta Banerjee’s statement came at a time when the opposition parties are constantly raising questions about the resignation of the Vice President and considering it as related for political reasons.

Mamta erupted on reporter
Mamta Banerjee rained on a reporter during a conversation with the media. He said angrily to the reporter, you do not say what we do, you guys only talk about BJP? Do we dare to talk? On the question of Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation, Mamta said why are you decorating it? Do not ask the question of Dhankar ji’s resignation so much. He is a healthy person.

Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned to President
Jagdeep Dhankhar sent his resignation to President Draupadi Murmu on Monday evening. In his resignation sent to Murmu, Dhankar said that he is leaving the post with immediate effect for “giving priority to health care”. Dhankhar said in a letter to the President, “According to Article 67 (A) of the Constitution, I am resigning from the post of Vice President of India with immediate effect.

Jagdeep was in the news due to the vocal attitude
Jagdeep Dhankhar made headlines due to his vocal attitude and controversies, but he was most discussed when he was the Governor of West Bengal. There was a demand to remove him several times regarding his behavior in that period, which is long before the impeachment motion brought by the opposition in the Rajya Sabha in December last year.

Trinamool Congress demanded removal in 2020
In December 2020, five MPs of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) submitted a memorandum to the then President Ram Nath Kovind, demanding the removal of Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar from the post. The MPs accused him of working on the orders of “political masters sitting in Delhi” and running a special political agenda targeting the state government.

Udit raj on operation sindoor: After the recent military confrontation between India and Pakistan and ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Government of India is now preparing to put its stand firm in front of the global community. In this connection, a delegation of MPs of various political parties will visit major countries of the world. Its purpose is to create an international public opinion about Pakistan -sponsored terrorism and justify India’s response on the global platform.

However, on this initiative, there is a mixed response in political circles. Congress leader Udit Raj has raised a sharp question on this plan of the government. He said that when no one is supporting India in the world, what will be achieved by sending 40 MPs abroad? He argues that India may have targeted some terrorist bases during Operation Sindoor, but the roots of terrorism are spread deep in Pakistan. According to him, everything effectively controls ISI in Pakistan and the statements of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have no significant importance.

#Watch Delhi | “The USA is with Pakistan. Many Other Countries are also supporting Pakistan. I don’t know how true this is, but the atomic power that Pakistan has aaerica’s’ much pic.twitter.com/gev8V9ckzg

– ANI (@ani) May 17, 2025

Congress stance and political background

However, the Congress party is supporting this effort. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has talked to party president Mallikarjun Kharge regarding this delegation. Ramesh also said that even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has refused to call a special session in Parliament or preside over the all-party meeting, the Congress has always stood in favor of national interest.

He also clarified that the Congress will be a part of this multi -party delegation as it is a serious topic like preparing national security and global public opinion. The Congress party also wants the resolution passed by Parliament on 22 February 1994, in which Pakistan -occupied Kashmir was described as an integral part of India, it should be repeated again. This proposal was unanimously passed and it remains the basis of India’s Pakistan policy.

Why need international diplomacy

The ruthless killing of 26 people in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April had shocked the entire country. In response, India destroyed many terrorist bases in Pakistan and POJK under Operation Sindoor. However, after this military retaliation, there was no expected support from the international community, which raised questions on India’s foreign policy.

In such a situation, the Government of India’s effort that it creates international public opinion through MPs, is considered a part of a new and aggressive diplomatic strategy. After neutral or vague reactions from America, Türkiye, China and Gulf countries, it has become necessary that India should keep its position clearly and effectively.

Will this strategy be effective?

The question is also whether this strategy will prove to be really effective? To influence the global public opinion, only a political delegation will be enough or at the same time India will have to take further diplomatic and economic steps? Many experts believe that India will have to present concrete evidence of their military actions, which will lead to its credibility and strengthening on the international stage. Also, it is equally important to refute the fake nectar being spread by Pakistan on technical and documentary basis.
