There is big news related to the Grand Alliance regarding Bihar Assembly elections 2025. According to sources, Congress can contest on 60 seats in Bihar elections. Apart from this, a formal announcement of seat sharing in the Grand Alliance can be made today (15 October 2025). The possible names of the seats on which Congress can contest are as follows.

Wazirganj, Warisaliganj, Supaul, Barbigha, Forbesganj, Baniapur, Bahadurganj, Motihari, Kishanganj, Purnia, Kasba, Pranpur, Kadwa, Kodha, Araria, Bihariganj, Bhagalpur, Sonbarsa, Jamalpur, Kusheshwarsthan, Bikram, Benipur, Hisua, Jale, Maharajganj, Kuchaikot, Buxar, Vaishali, Karghar, Lalganj, Manihari, Rosra, Rajpur, Begusarai, Chenari, Beldaur, Kutumba, Kahalgaon, Muzaffarpur, Sultanganj, Khagaria, Amarpur, Aurangabad, Lakhisarai, Valmiki Nagar, Barbigha, Ramnagar, Rajgir, Narkatiaganj, Barh, Chanpatia, Bankipur, Bettiah, Patna Sahib, Govindganj, Gaya Town, Riga, Tekari, Pigtail.

Central Election Committee meeting

Top leaders of the Congress had discussed the names of possible candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections in the party’s Central Election Committee meeting on Tuesday (14 October 2025). Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, All India Congress Committee Organization General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and party treasurer Ajay Maken were present in the meeting. Rahul Gandhi attended the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting digitally.

Congress’s performance in 2020 assembly elections

According to the PTI report, sources said that first the party discussed the names of more than 50 candidates for the assembly seats on which the party can contest the elections. However, now Congress is preparing to field its candidates on 60 seats. Congress contested 70 seats in the 2020 assembly elections and won 19 seats. Assembly elections in Bihar will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. Counting of votes will take place on November 14. The opposition alliance led by RJD will make efforts to remove the ruling NDA from power.
