We also take information about this from the shopkeeper. The main purpose of getting information about guarantee or warranty is so that we do not have to worry too much if there is some defect in the goods. However, despite the guarantee, some consumers are quite upset because the shopkeepers refuse the claim.  </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Today we are going to tell you about your right and how you can complain about the shopkeeper in such situations. In fact, many times the company or the shopkeeper refuses to pay the claim even though the goods are under guarantee. If this is happening to you too then don&#8217;t worry, you can use your rights here. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Complaint Procedure</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">First of all, show your guarantee or warranty card to the shopkeeper. If the shopkeeper is not agreeing even if both are fine, then you can complain to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs or District Consumer Forum under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 of India. These institutions are there to protect your rights.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The shopkeeper refused? do this now</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">You have to go to a lawyer and write your name, shopkeeper&#8217;s name and address on a letter. After that you have to write about your complaint. Along with this, also submit your warranty or guarantee card in that application. This process is absolutely free. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Complain about the price in this forum</strong></p>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;">If the price of your goods is Rs 5 lakh then a complaint will be lodged in the consumer forum of the district. </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">If the amount is Rs 5 lakh to 20 lakh, then the matter will be complained to the Consumer Forum of the State Commission.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">If the price of the goods is more than Rs 20 lakh, then a complaint will be made in the Consumer Forum of the National Commission. </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">According to the Consumer Forum Act, the complaint is applied through e-filing i.e. online. The consumer has the right to get all the information about the product and service.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Why is warranty and guarantee important?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Nowadays most of the goods have warranty or guarantee. However, this mostly happens on technical goods. It gives protection to the consumer on his goods.  Technical goods are quite expensive and people cannot buy them again and again. For these reasons, companies give warranty or guarantee on these goods. This guarantee and warranty is for a limited period only. Under warranty, the defective item is repaired and under guarantee, if the item is defective, it is completely replaced or the money is refunded.</p>

<p><strong>National Consumer Rights Day:</strong> National Consumer Day will be celebrated across the country tomorrow i.e. on 24th December. The purpose of this day is to make people aware of their consumer rights. People often go shopping. But they do not know that they also have legal power. Many times companies and sellers take advantage of this shortcoming. </p>
<p>To stop this, the Central Government implemented the Consumer Protection Act 2019. Under which every consumer has been given 6 strong rights. The surprising thing is that even today about 99 percent people do not have correct information about these rights. Let us tell you about them.</p>
<h3><strong>right to security</strong></h3>
<p>The right to security protects the consumer from such goods and services. Which can become a threat to his life or property. This means that no company can sell such a thing in the market. Due to which the customer gets harmed. If a product poses a risk of injury, illness or death. So the consumer can demand compensation. This right is especially important in matters of electronics, food items and medicines.</p>
<h3><strong>right to Information</strong></h3>
<p>Right to Information gives the consumer the right to get complete and accurate information related to any goods or services. This includes the quality, quantity, purity, price and conditions of use of the product. If a company sells a product by giving wrong information. So this is considered a violation of the law. The purpose of this right is that the customer can take an informed decision and does not become a victim of any kind of fraud.</p>
<h3><strong>Right against forced shopping</strong></h3>
<p>Under this right, no shopkeeper or company can force the customer to buy any goods or service. The customer has every right to compare the options and refuse to purchase if he does not like it. Many times extra charges, bundled offers or unwanted services are imposed. In such cases the consumer can exercise this right.</p>
<h3><strong>right to be heard</strong></h3>
<p>The right to be heard gives the consumer an opportunity to express his complaint openly. If there is exploitation during shopping or there is deficiency in service. So the customer can raise his voice. By going to the consumer forum he can express his views and make the company accountable. This right ensures that the customer&#8217;s complaint is not ignored.</p>
<h3><strong>right to redressal of grievance</strong></h3>
<p>Under this right, the consumer gets the assurance that his complaint will definitely be resolved. If any product turns out to be defective or there is fraud in service. So the customer can ask for compensation. The consumer court can also impose a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh and imprisonment of up to six months on the guilty company. This is the reason why this right is considered very powerful for consumers.</p>
<h3><strong>Right to Consumer Education</strong></h3>
<p>Right to consumer education makes customers aware and intelligent. Its objective is that the consumer can know his rights, laws and methods of complaint. When the customer is educated. Only then will he be able to avoid misleading ads and false claims. This right makes the market more transparent and honest in the long run.</p>
<p>The first consumer protection law in India was enacted on 24 December 1986. As the needs changed with time, the Consumer Protection Act 2019 was brought. It is important for every customer to know and adopt these rights on National Consumer Day.</p>

<p><strong>GST 2.0 Consumer Rights:</strong> From September 22, new GST Reforms (GST 2.0) have been implemented by the Indian government. There are now only two GST slabs under these new systems. One is 5% and the other 18%. Now 12% and 18% slab has been abolished. The purpose of this reform is to make tax easier and provide monthly savings on household goods. However, after this an important question arises whether the companies will bring this profit to the consumers? Or they can eliminate GST cuts by increasing prices. Let&#8217;s know</p>
<p><strong>Can companies eliminate GST cuts? </strong></p>
<p>Actually, companies can increase prices to maintain profit margin. After this, the expected benefit of GST cuts will be over. With this, companies have the freedom to fix their prices. Not only this, for small items, sometimes companies change the quantity instead of the price. This gives less benefits to the consumer. </p>
<p><strong>Government measures </strong></p>
<p>To prevent all these problems, the government has implemented strict monitoring and enforcement mechanisms. In fact, under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, the Central Consumer Authority can check the price violation on its initiative or based on the complaint of any consumer. Along with this, the Central Board of Indirect Tax and Custom has also ordered to monitor the prices of 54 essential commodities for 6 months.</p>
<p>Not only this, companies have been allowed to use a sticker with revised prices with original MRP by 31 December 2025 for old stocks. Along with this, field verification will be done to ensure whether GST tax cuts are reaching consumers or not to ensure that GST network and Ministry of Consumer Affairs using it.</p>
<p><strong>How to complain for not getting the benefit of GST </strong></p>
<p>If you find that a company is not giving the benefit of the cut in GST, then you can complain about it. To complain, you can directly contact the National Consumer Helpline at toll free number 1915 or 1800114000 available in 17 languages. Apart from this, you can also file a complaint through the National Consumer Helpline website or Umang App. </p>
<p>GST portal can be used for complaints related to tax. Tax pair can find a solution by giving your GSTIN, mobile number and details of the problem.</p>

The central government has issued a notification of new rates of GST. The new rates are becoming effective from 22 September. According to the notification, now things will be found according to new rates. Let us know that in the GST Council meeting held on 3 September 2025, it was decided that now four percent of GST rates i.e. 5 percent, 12 percent, 18 percent, 28 percent will not be there in the country, but only two rates will be applicable only 5 percent and 18 percent.</p>

Complain through the website &#8211;</strong> Official website of national consumer helpline  <a href="https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/public/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/public/</a> You can also complain. To file a complaint in this, first go to the website and sign up, then log in and choose Register Grievance option. Give complete information about your complaint, upload supporting documents and submit the complaint, after that you will get a docket number. You can also track your complaint with this number. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>3. Complain through mobile app &#8211;</strong> Download from Nch Mobile App, Google Play Store or App Store. Register, log in and file a complaint. Apart from this, you can also complain through the UMANG app. Go to the UMANG app and choose the option of consumer complaints and file a complaint.</p>
