Thanks to the strong innings of Matthew Short and Cooper Connolly, Australia defeated India by 2 wickets in the second ODI played in Adelaide. With this, Australia has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. After playing first, India had scored 264 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, the Kangaroos won the match by losing 8 wickets with 22 balls remaining. After 17 years, the Indian team has lost the ODI match in Adelaide.

The beginning of captaincy in ODI was not good for Shubman Gill. Gill lost his first series as captain. Indian bowlers failed to defend 264 runs. The Australian batsmen ruined the half-centuries of Rohit Sharma (73 runs) and Shreyas Iyer (61 runs).

Australia had a bad start, but Short and Connolly turned the tables.

The Australian team, which came to chase the target of 265 runs, did not have a good start. Captain Miles Marsh was out after scoring 11 runs and Travis Head was out after scoring 28 runs. Looking at the inexperienced middle order, it seemed that the Indian bowlers would not allow the Australian batsmen to reach the target, but number three Matt Short first put his team out of trouble by making a partnership of 155 runs for the third wicket with Matt Renshaw (30 runs in 30 balls).

However, once again there was a twist in the middle. After Renshaw was out, Alex Carey also returned to the pavilion after scoring only 9 runs. Kangaroos lost 4 wickets for 132 runs. It seemed that Team India would now make a comeback, but Cooper Connolly ruined the plans of the Indian team. Short scored his third half-century in ODI cricket. He was out after scoring 74 runs in 78 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes.

After Short’s dismissal, India’s hopes were once again raised, but Mitchell Owen counter-attacked. Owen scored 36 runs in just 23 balls, hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes. Whereas Cooper Connolly scored unbeaten 61 runs in 53 balls. 5 fours and one six came from his bat. He returned unbeaten after winning the match for Australia.

Rohit and Iyer’s half-centuries were ruined

Earlier, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s 73 runs in 97 balls, Shreyas Iyer’s 61 runs in 77 balls and Akshar Patel’s 44 runs in 41 balls, India scored 264 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. Leg spinner Adam Zampa, who returned after the birth of his second child, took four wickets for 60 runs for Australia. Most of the batsmen were out trying to attack him. Fast bowler Xavier Bartlett bowled brilliantly and took three wickets for 39 runs. He also got the valuable wicket of Virat Kohli (0).

South Africa defeated Australia 2–1 in the 3-match ODI series, but in the last ODI played on Sunday, the Australia team looked completely dominated. First Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green scored a century, then in bowling, Cooper Konoli put a historic spell in bowling. Konoli took 5 wickets, which is the best bowling by Australia spinner in ODIs. Along with breaking the record of Brad Hog, he also broke a big record 38 years old.

Australia scored 431 runs while batting first. Travis Head (142), Mitchell Marsh (100) and Cameron Green (118) played a brilliant century. In response, South Africa’s team collapsed for 155 runs, the highest wicket was taken by Spinner Kapoor Konoli of Australia.

Cooper Konoli’s historic spell, broke Brad Hog’s record

Cooper Konoli took 5 wickets for 22 runs in 6 overs. He dismissed Tony de Jorji, Dewald Bravis, Wilm Mulder, Corbin Bosch and Keshav Maharaj. This is the best spell in ODIs by spinner for Australia. He broke Brad Hog’s record, who took 5 wickets for 32 runs against West Indies in 2005. This is followed by Shane Warne in the list, who took 5 wickets for 33 runs against West Indies in 1996.

The youngest Australian bowler to take 5 wicket hall

Cooper Konoli has become the youngest bowler to take 5 wickets for Australia in ODI cricket. Earlier this record was the name of Craig McDermot, who took 5 wickets against Pakistan in 1987. At that time, Craig was 22 years 204 days. While Konoli took 5 wickets on Sunday, he was 22 years and 2 days. He celebrated his 22nd birthday on 22 August itself. See the top 3 bowlers who take 5 wickets for Australia.

South Africa won 2–1 series

South Africa had already won the series by winning both the early ODIs of the series. The last match was a self -esteem battle for Australia, which Mitchell Marsh & Team was successful in winning. Travis Head was chosen as the best player of the third ODI, who scored 142 runs in 103 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 17 fours. Keshav Maharaj was chosen as the best player of the series.
