According to experts, the spike protein of lp.8.1 has 6 mutations, on the basis of this scientists believe that it can be more easily bind than our cells. It has seen a mutation named V445R which gives it the ability to spread more easily than the rest of the variants.

V445R can damage lung cells. Initial reports have shown that the symptoms of LP.8.1 are not more serious than the rest of the sub-workers, so it is not being considered more dangerous at the moment.
