The US Embassy in Dhaka informed that Lieutenant General Joel P. Walli visited Bangladesh, Deputy Commanding General of US Army Pacific. He accepted the continuous contribution of the Bangladeshi Army in domestic security, especially in the context of requirements such as disaster response. During the conversation, Bangladesh’s major military challenges and possible areas were discussed where the US could provide assistance. Apart from this, ‘Tiger Lightning’ exercise to be held in summer was also discussed. The US military officer also discussed the potential purchase of American origin to strengthen mutual cooperation with Bangladeshi counterparts and increase military capabilities.

Mohammad Yunus has gone to China

Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, is on a visit to China. He reached Henan Province on Wednesday, where he will address the inaugural session of Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 at 11:30 am local time. The session will be held at the BFA International Convention Center in Henan. On this occasion, Lao PDR Prime Minister Sonexe Sifandoni, State Council Executive Deputy Prime Minister Ding Zuxiang, Boao Forum Asia President Ban Ki Moon and General Secretary Zhang June will also express their views.

Bangladesh army emergency meeting over coup rumors: Is the army going to coup soon in Bangladesh? This question has been arising for several days. Bangladesh Army officials on Tuesday (March 25) called a media report completely false and fabricated, claiming that the army’s top officials had called an emergency meeting. The army rejected this report as a serious lapse of journalism. The Army’s Media Branch Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has described it as a case of misinformation and rumor.

According to the statement issued by ISPR, the report which claimed that “Bangladesh Army Holds Emergency Meeting AMID Possibility of Coup Against Chief Chief Adviser Mohammad Yunus” is based on a complete confusion and false information. This report is an example of a serious lapse of journalism, in which no reliable source or concrete evidence has been mentioned. ISPR said the meeting was a general administrative meeting, which was incorrectly introduced as a coup of coup.

Question on the veracity of allegations
ISPR’s statement clarified that the report did not have any concrete evidence or reliable information, which could confirm that the coup was being planned. The army described this report as “false and malicious” and said that this rumor is completely concocted. This is not the first time the media organization concerned has made incorrect reporting against the Bangladesh Army. Earlier, the same media group published another report in March 2025, which was rejected by the Bangladesh Army at that time.
