But later the two families reached a compromise and filed a petition in the Delhi High Court and appealed to cancel the FIR lodged in the case.

In the Delhi High Court, Justice Arun Moga while hearing the case said that when the dispute is resolved by mutual consent and this is a private matter, there is no need to continue criminal action. But instead of finishing this, the court added a unique condition to it.
